5Shorty5 Thank you soo much for this brilliant idea. I really enjoyed writing I hope you like it.

Lucy sighed as she unlocked the door to their apartment, kicking off her shoes with a relieved groan. It had been a long day—work had been chaotic, and her birthday barely felt like a celebration. Sure, the team had gotten her a cake at the station, and she'd received plenty of messages, but the one thing she had really been looking forward to? Spending time with Tim.

He'd been weird all day, constantly checking his phone, disappearing for random "errands," and being extra cryptic whenever she asked him about their plans for the night.

"Tim?" she called out, stepping further inside. The apartment was eerily quiet.

Then she saw it.

Scattered rose petals lined the floor, leading toward the bedroom. Candles flickered along the countertops, casting a warm glow across the space. The scent of fresh flowers filled the air, and her heart started beating faster.

Tim Bradford was *romantic?*

Lucy grinned as she followed the trail, pushing open the bedroom door—only to gasp at the sight in front of her.

The bed was covered in red and white roses, petals carefully arranged in the shape of a heart in the center. Fairy lights twinkled around the headboard, adding an extra touch of magic. And standing in the middle of it all, looking completely smug and self-satisfied, was Tim.

"Happy birthday, Chen."

Lucy beamed. "You did all of this?"

Tim shrugged like it was nothing, but the slight pink tint on his ears betrayed him. "Figured you deserved something special."

Lucy took a step closer, resting her hands on his chest. "This is amazing."

Tim smirked. "And I haven't even shown you the best part yet."

Before she could ask, he grabbed her hand and led her back into the living room. And that's when she saw it.

A tiny, wriggling ball of fluff sitting beside Kojo.

Lucy's breath hitched. "No way."

The puppy—a golden retriever with big, soulful eyes—yawned and wobbled toward her, its tiny tail wagging. Kojo sat patiently beside it, as if already accepting his new friend.

Lucy dropped to her knees, scooping up the puppy with a gasp. "Tim! You got Kojo a friend?"

Tim leaned against the counter, arms crossed but a proud smile on his face. "Figured he needed a partner in crime. And I thought you might like a little more chaos in your life."

Lucy laughed, cradling the puppy against her chest. "You are *the best boyfriend ever.*"

Tim chuckled. "I'll remind you of that next time you get mad at me."

Lucy grinned, looking between him, the romantic setup, and the puppy in her arms. "Seriously, Tim. This is perfect."

Tim crouched beside her, scratching behind Kojo's ears. "You're perfect."

Lucy rolled her eyes, but her heart melted anyway.

She set the puppy down, letting it explore as she wrapped her arms around Tim's neck. "I love you," she murmured, pressing a soft kiss against his lips.

Tim's hands settled on her waist, pulling her closer. "I love you too, Chen."

It was, without a doubt, the best birthday she'd ever had.
