I just wanted to thank you for this amazing idea. Thank you all for reading and constantly voting, it really does bring a smile to my face.

Morning sunlight spilled through the bedroom window, casting a warm glow across the bed. Lucy stirred, groaning as she tried to pull the blanket back over her head, only to have it yanked away.

"Tim," she whined, blindly reaching for him.

"Come on, Boot," he teased, smirking as he hovered over her. "Shift starts in an hour."

Lucy groaned dramatically, burying her face into the pillow. "Five more minutes."

Tim chuckled, leaning down to press a soft kiss against her temple. "You say that, and then we're running out the door with you shoving a granola bar in your mouth."

She peeked up at him with a sleepy smile. "Yeah, but you love me anyway."

His smirk softened, and he brushed a strand of hair out of her face. "Yeah, I do."

Lucy's heart fluttered, and she reached up, pulling him down for a proper kiss. It was slow and lazy, the kind that made her want to call in sick and stay tangled up in bed with him all day. But, unfortunately, duty called.

Twenty minutes later, they were out the door, coffee in hand, walking into the station side by side.

"You really think we'll get out on time tonight?" Lucy asked, adjusting the strap of her bag.

"I'll believe it when I see it," Tim replied.

As soon as they stepped inside, Sergeant Grey called out, "Bradford! Chen!"

They exchanged a look before making their way to his office.

"You two have a visitor," Grey informed them, arms crossed.

Lucy frowned. "Who?"

Before he could answer, a familiar voice cut in from the side.

"Luce! Tim!"

Both of them turned, and Lucy felt her stomach drop.

Rachel.

Tim stiffened beside her, his entire posture going rigid. Lucy barely managed to mask her shock before Rachel strode toward them, acting as if nothing had ever happened—as if she hadn't completely torched her relationships with both of them before packing up and moving to New York.

"Wow, you both look great," Rachel said brightly. "It's been forever!"

Lucy crossed her arms. "Yeah. It has."

Rachel either ignored the tension or pretended not to notice. "I just got back to LA, but—" she sighed dramatically— "I lost my job, and I don't have anywhere to stay. I know it's a lot to ask, but I was hoping you two might let me crash for a couple of nights?"

Lucy hesitated, every instinct telling her this was a bad idea. But Rachel kept talking, piling on the sob story—the lost job, the expensive rent, the "I didn't know where else to go."

Tim stayed silent, letting Lucy decide. And dammit, she hated that part of her still felt guilty, still felt the need to be the bigger person.

"Just for a couple of nights," Lucy finally said, though she already regretted it.

Rachel beamed. "Thank you, Luce. You have no idea how much this means to me."

Tim sighed, muttering under his breath, "Oh, I think we do."

—————————-

By the time their shift ended, Lucy was exhausted. She just wanted to go home, curl up on the couch with Tim, and unwind. But as soon as they walked through the door, reality smacked her in the face.

Rachel was there. In their apartment. Making herself at home.

She had already changed into comfortable clothes—Lucy's old sweatshirt, to be exact—and was sitting on their couch with a cup of tea like she belonged there.

Lucy shot Tim a look. *This was a mistake.*

Tim smirked slightly, clearly enjoying her suffering.

Determined to reclaim their space, Lucy walked over to Tim, wrapping her arms around his waist and resting her head on his chest. He immediately responded, pressing a kiss to the top of her head.

It should have been a sweet moment. Except for the fact that Rachel was sitting *right there,* watching them.

Lucy could feel her gaze, but she ignored it. She tilted her head up to kiss Tim, letting it linger just a little longer than necessary.

Tim smirked, clearly catching on. His hand slid to her lower back, pulling her in closer.

Rachel cleared her throat. "So... how long have you two been together?"

Lucy barely held back an eye roll. *Oh, please.* As if Rachel didn't already know.

Tim, unfazed, simply replied, "A while."

Rachel nodded slowly, looking between them, and the awkwardness stretched thick in the air.

Lucy refused to let Rachel ruin their night. She tugged Tim toward the couch, plopping down in his lap rather than taking a separate seat.

Rachel blinked. "You guys are really affectionate, huh?"

Lucy smiled sweetly. "Oh, you have no idea."

Tim bit back a chuckle, burying his face in Lucy's shoulder.

Rachel shifted uncomfortably. "Well, I think I'll turn in early."

As soon as her door closed, Lucy turned to Tim. "She is *so* leaving soon."

Tim grinned. "I was waiting for you to say it."

Lucy groaned, flopping back against the couch. "This is going to be *the longest* couple of nights ever."

Tim kissed her cheek, murmuring, "At least we're in it together."

She sighed, leaning into him. "Yeah... but next time, I'm saying no."

Tim smirked. "We'll see."

Lucy groaned again, and Tim just laughed, pulling her in for another kiss.

Tomorrow, they'd deal with Rachel. Tonight, Lucy was just going to enjoy Tim and pretend their uninvited guest wasn't making herself at home.

For now.
