Chapter 2

Lea sat on the grass under a tree. She wanted to read a book her father had given her, but today the clouds were so beautiful that she spent several hours looking at them. The economics book was never her favorite, and she only read it before bed when she wanted to fall asleep faster. She had a moment of peace. Her siblings were in class with their nannies, and she was supposed to be reading a book at the same time. She was watching the plane landing at the nearby airport when she noticed her mother walking towards her accompanied by a man.

She let out a heavy sigh, she sensed trouble. Her mother never took the trouble to visit her without a reason, she always had some business to attend to, especially when she brought someone with her that Lea was supposed to meet in person, rarely did this acquaintance end well for her. Lea hoped that this man was not here because of the escape she had made yesterday. She put the book down and stood up, dusting the grass off her shorts. She decided to play for time and act innocent.

The man was quite slim, but not skinny. You could see that he was muscular if you looked closely. He had very short black hair and was a little taller than her. He didn't have any facial hair. Lea wondered for a moment if he wouldn't look better with facial hair, but she quickly pushed that thought away. Her mother had a smile on her face during the conversation, which was rather suspicious. The man looked confident as he looked around the garden, but when Lea's mother mentioned the girl and pointed to her, he started to look at her. He had to look at her twice. The first time he thought she wasn't wearing any pants, but when he noticed the black material peeking out from under a large t-shirt, he sighed. She had very long and shapely legs. He had to stop himself from staring at her. He didn't want to get fired on the first day of his new job.

– Lea, I'd like you to meet our new head of security - the woman said. - this is Samuel.

The man nodded in greeting. Lea reached out her hand to shake his, and her heart began to beat faster. So now she would have to deal with this handsome guy, this would be interesting. Samuel looked into her eyes and his heart quickened, too. It was one thing to see her on TV or in pictures on the Internet. It was quite another to stand in front of her.

– It's very nice to meet you – he said and offered her a hand.

When his hand joined hers, they both felt a strange impulse. Lea shivered, what was happening to her?

– We'll see – she said, trying to keep her tone pleasant and her smile on her face. The head of security snorted in her thoughts.

– Lea! – her mother threw – I apologize for my rude daughter – the woman added.

– I've heard many... good things about the princess-Samuel smiled, he liked that she tried to show who was in charge from the beginning.

– Only Lea – the girl spoke, there was something in her eyes that made it impossible for him to look away.

He wasn't sure if it was her confidence, her courage, or if she just wanted to show that she was different from all those around her. Letycja seemed to be more cautious. She took everything seriously and seemed rather withdrawn. Lea was full of energy. She looked like a mischief maker.

– So Lea - Samuel said – I'm here to ensure your safety, if you have any comments about our work, I'll be happy to listen to you – he had a gentle expression, or at least that's how he wanted to appear in her eyes.

– Just don't hold your breath waiting to hear from me - she replied calmly, looking straight at him. She could feel her heart beating fast. There was something about him that she didn't like, he was too self-confident, he had a smile on his face and didn't take his eyes off her.

– You're going to kill me, child - her mother said – mind your manners – she added, trying to smile through clenched teeth, but it came out badly.
