Her heart began to beat faster.
– I was somehow expecting you to deny it, and it was all just a fantasy – she started to sniffle.
He laughed when he heard these words.
– Why would I want to deny it? It wasn't a fantasy, there's no need for panic – he brushed a strand of hair from her forehead.
– I don't know – she murmured – maybe because I'm awful to you.
– You're not horrible to me – he had a smile of relief on his face.
– Yes, I am, I don't listen to you, I run away, we fight – she started to make a list.
– I've had several opportunities to protect another person – he said – but I didn't want to.
– Why? – she didn't understand.
– You're the most attention-grabbing person I know when it comes to protecting – he admitted – but I think I like it – he added.
– You think so? – she burst out laughing at him.
– Well, I guess for sure – he laughed – after all, I'm still here.
– I can't keep up with what's going on – tears filled her eyes again.
He approached her. He took off her hood and hat and placed it behind him on the coffee table.
– The fact that you got close to Ned so quickly was no accident – he began after a moment of silence – all the time you spent in my company made him closer to you, but only because you saw me every day, talked to me and a bond was formed between us that he only entered into because we look identical – Samuel said in a calm tone.
– Are you trying to tell me that what I feel for him is not true at all? – she asked uncertainly.
– I'm not saying it's not true, I'm just saying that maybe we didn't realize that there was something between us, something that was in need of an impulse that would create a break in the barrier that separated me from you because of who we are – he explained – I was trying not to touch you, or to be more precise, I wasn't touching you in the same way that Ned was touching you. It seemed rather inappropriate to become so familiar with you. That doesn't mean I never thought about it - he brushed the unruly strand of hair from her forehead again.
Lea was speechless, it was the first time they had had such a quiet and intimate conversation. She took his face into a hand. Samuel closed his eyes and felt the warmth of her hand on his face. He sighed and felt a chill run through his entire body.
– I've always preferred – she started, but he interrupted her.
– If you say that, I won't let you out of this apartment – he moaned - no force will tear me away from you.
– You – she finished.
Samuel opened his eyes, waiting so long for those words that when he finally heard them he didn't know what to do, feeling her warm hands on his face. He felt those pleasant shivers throughout his body. She moved her head a little closer to him.
– Are you going to torture me like this now? – he laughed, feeling how she was going to keep him waiting.
Lea also had a smile on her face. She came closer to him, he could feel her warm breath on his skin just a moment before he could feel her lips on his. She kissed him in a soft and slow way. He couldn't help himself and put his hand on the back of her neck to hold her head still in case she changed her mind, but nothing of the sort happened. He kissed her passionately in return. He felt so relieved. She had soft lips and she held his face to hers the whole time they kissed. He pulled away from her, but only to get on the couch and sit on her hips. He leaned over her and kissed her again, she tangled her hands in his hair and gently ran her fingers down his neck. He felt a chill again, which didn't go unnoticed by her, he took off his shirt and looked into her eyes.
