30 | INSIDE THOUGHTS

MAYBE it was time for Cassia to delve deeper into apprehending everything. To recognize that promising things can happen to her and that people who are different from her could actually like her.

With Harry standing up for her after the VK invaded her space and didn't respect her, even if she didn't ask him to, the girl fell deeper into her mind. Harry didn't need to, and yet he still did.

If that didn't fairly scream that the guy was truthfully interested in her, she didn't know what did.

She had a presumption. But she wasn't thoroughly sure if he reciprocated the sentiment she held for him. Cassia couldn't merely go up to him and tell him. If he didn't share the same feelings, it was over for her. She was never going back to school.

Harry, on the other hand, if it came to that, he wouldn't stop until altering her mind. The idea of simply giving up didn't suit him or peal right to him. He always had to do something to make it better and work harder.

They both had completely different mindsets. Yet one objective.

"I still can't get over the fact that Harry Hook punched someone for you!" Evie cackled. Her excitement replenished the halls with every step she took.

"Technically he didn't punch him first." Cassia corrected. "But yeah."

Evie nodding, went on, "Same thing!" She saw no disparity. Harry Hook still fended the girl and there was no difference in that.

Walking next to the girls, Elliot spoke his thoughts,  "How's that for the bad boy of the month."  He lifted his eyebrows with a smirk.

Evie discharged a gasp turning to the brunette, "Gosh, please tell me you finally see it." Her words pleaded for an answer that she only hoped was the one she yearned to hear.

With a bubbling laugh, Cassia answered, "I think so."

"She does." Elliot provided Evie with a clearer reply. The boy knew Cassia did see it, there was no I think so.

"If I'm wrong, I'll blame you guys for making me delusional!" Cassia's finger pointed at the pair. It was a signal of warning.

Elliot positioned his hands in surrender, Evie ensuing right after. But they both knew that wouldn't happen because at least one of them knew the answer. While the other one simply had a strong feeling.

"He'll come around, trust me." The son of Rapunzel spoke with assurance. The assurance of knowing he would in his presence come about.

"Still, If I have to, I will freeze you to the floor." Elliot rolled his eyes at the ominous words of the girl, not finding them frightening at any moment. "I'm serious."

Evie giggling piped up, "Sure." She didn't find it fearful either. Because they both knew she was kidding and she wouldn't do it.

Upon coming to their classroom, the duo parted ways with the girl with blue hair. Elliot and Cassia had Math together while Evie had English. Walking into the classroom, the brunette set her things on her desk sufficiently. As Elliot placed nothing but a pencil and paper on his.

Watching the professor stroll into the class, everyone dwelled quietly. His frame stood in front of the room, while his hand reached for the white chalk. Writing the lesson of the day.

Ugh, how they all detested math.

The day pushed on normally. Classes went as slow as ever, and lunch as fast as always. Thankfully the week was almost over and everyone would be pleased with their weekend.

Cassia had of course no plans, but if she were to, they would always be last-minute. Her planless weekends were always followed by her just staying in her dorm. It used to be with Jane, but now that the girl was with Carlos it was just her alone.

Moving past the crowded halls, Cassia took note of the flyers that hung on the walls. It showed that the Homecoming dance was two weeks from now. Of course, how could she forget such an event?

She knew for a fact her friends were going. And it wouldn't be long before Evie began to blitz her with inquiries of if she was going. Following right after with if she could make her dress, but she already had one. The one she never wore.

And like every year, her date would be her best friend. Because before the VK's there was only Elliot and Cassia. And with the two not having a single date, they would be each other's. But that had to change one day, no?

"Come on man, it's the perfect opportunity." The son of Rapunzel stood next to Harry with the pamphlet in his hand. "Do you know how many times I had to listen to her talk about wanting to dance to a slow song, and not feel weird about it?" Desperation filled out his proclamations. If he could grab Harry by the collar of his coat, he would.

Surprisingly, Harry had been renouncing the bid to the dance. Why? That was what Elliot was pushing to find out because Harry wasn't giving him one. But he had a feeling it had to do with Mal and Ben's engagement party during the summer.

"Just give me the reason why you don't want to go." Raising his brow, Elliot continued to press for an answer. "Just one."

Rolling his eyes at the distress of the boy, the pirate finally spoke. "I want to go, but I don't know how to dance." Harry huffed, giving Elliot what he wanted. "At least not bore-audon dancing."

Harry remembered how Audrey dragged him out to dance at the engagement party. And all the pirate could think back to was the consistent step on her shoes. Furthermore, how Audrey kept on weeping from the pain that would grow from her toes. Feeling sheepish, he didn't dare to leave his chair for another dance.

The boy nodded, "Uh-huh. Well, I can teach you." Elliot wouldn't say he was skilled, but he knew his basics.

Over listening to the sound of Harry giggling, the son of Rapunzel furrowed his brows in disarray. Not understanding what humorous thing he could've said that resulted in making the pirate laugh. He had only proposed a simple proposition.

"Eli, I know I'm gorgeous but I don't swing that way." Confusion prospered in the boy.

Not only from the fact that Harry used his nickname but also from his side remark. With a small smirk carving on his lips, Elliot momentarily nodded following along to what Harry meant.

"Look man, even if I swung the other way too. You wouldn't be my type." He picked at the pirate ahead of him, watching a smirk grow on his lips. And his shadow eyes fall on him. "And relax, I'm not gonna dance with you. We can ask Evie."

Maybe that reduced Harry's ego a tad bit. Expecting to hear that the male would actually find him attractive if he was into guys, but hearing the complete opposite made him halt his giggling. Ignoring it, Harry nodded.

"Fine." He settled. "I'm only doing this because I wanna go with my princess." At his words, Elliot rolled his eyes watching Harry point his index finger toward him.

"Yeah, whatever you say, big bro."
