*Amy's P.O.V*

When we all went back to the dojo, it was different from any other kind of training we would have. It was intense, limit pushing, and it was giving us the chance to conquer. But as we would train, I didn't know how hard it would be until it started taking a toll on me. And I mean, really taking a toll on me. It sometimes felt like I was spinning out, and I would be unbalanced which was weird.

Doing kata with Sam, Tory, and Devon, that wasn't hard at all. I could be focused during that. But everything else, I kept thinking that maybe I would faint. The amount of times I would need to sit down and take water made me feel like I didn't deserve to be a part of the Sekai Taikai team. But I wasn't going to give up. I'm going to continue working hard so that I earn my spot on the team.

I entered the school while I was with Eli and Demetri. They were talking about the world tournament too.

My hand was intertwined with Eli's as we walked down the hallways.

"The team is pretty much set." Demetri said, "It's literally all the couples in the dojo. I'm not gonna have a spot on the team."

"You have a chance, Demetri." I said, "It's an even playing field."

"Amy has a point." Eli said.

"There is no point. It shouldn't be a question of who is on the team. There's three sets of couples. It would make sense for you guys to go because you are the strongest fighters."

"Don't count yourself out, dude."

"There's something else that I would prefer to focus on."

"Like what, Demetri?" I asked him.

"Getting into MIT." He answered.

"Still waiting to hear back from them?"

"Yeah, I'm still waiting." He tells us, "But Early Action Decisions come out any day."

"I know." Eli said.

"What about you, Amy?" Demetri asked me, "Have you heard anything from the colleges you applied to?"

"I've heard back from a few." I said, "But I'm still waiting to see."

"Any college would be lucky to have you." My boyfriend said sweetly to me.

I smiled back at him. "Aw, babe."

I gave him a kiss on the cheek as Demetri tried to keep his gagging noises to himself. I bet it was hard for him. Then when I turned my head, I could see Yasmine standing by her locker and I knew that I wanted to talk to her.

"I'm going to go and talk to Yasmine." I said, and then I turned to look at Eli, "I'll see you at lunch."

"See you, babe." Eli gave me a soft kiss on the lips.

"You're going to talk to my girlfriend?" Demetri spoke up.

"You're talking to my boyfriend. What difference does it make?"

I didn't give Demetri a chance to respond before I walked over to my blonde friend who was looking through her locker. She must be trying to find some perfume.

"Hey." I greeted her.

"Hey." She greeted me back, "How are you?"

"I'm doing great. What about you?"

"The same." She smiled at me. "Demetri has been telling me about the karate tournament you guys are training for. I think he's putting himself down."

"He was just talking to me about it with Eli. He thinks he won't have a shot at being a part of the team."
