(^Pretend Amy is standing in between Sam and Eli.)
*Amy's P.O.V*
When the tournament continued, I didn't imagine that this would be how it would go. It's going absolutely terrible. We are doing terribly. Every fight that we would be up against, there was always something to bring us down. It's not like we're unbalanced. Okay, well some of us are but people like Sam, Miguel, Eli, and I guess Demetri, and myself were doing okay but then it would go completely wrong. I'm sorry for making Robby the odd man out but it's the truth.
It's been an up and down battle since we've arrived here. We knew that it wasn't going to be easy. Now it's being shown to us.
I watched Sam have a match against an opponent with a bo-staff and the two different strategies that Daniel and Johnny were shouting at her weren't helping. It only confused her more and she lost.
Miguel did really well against two opponents that he was fighting at once. Demetri had lost his match. Eli lost his own and so did I. I got kicked to the ground. It's a mess, a huge fucking mess. How will we come back?
Now we're with Daniel and Johnny and I'm guessing there'll be a pep talk. There is always one at this point.
"Everyone, listen up." Daniel said, "All right, this morning's event was rough, but let's not get discouraged just yet. We have two more events today and eliminations don't begin till the second one."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Demetri said, talking out of nowhere, "if that wasn't the elimination round, what is? Getting our heads cut off with swords?"
"We knew this wasn't gonna be easy." My uncle says. "We're going up against the best dojos in the world, but don't forget, you guys are one of 'em too."
"Yeah, so you better start fighting like it." Now it was Johnny's turn to talk.
"Johnny, come on, man."
Then my uncle turned back to us, "The best thing you can do right now is just clear your minds, get some rest, you know, put this behind you. You got this, all right? I believe in you."
Sam started to leave and the rest of us followed her. But I made sure to stop Eli from walking so that we could talk.
"I'm gonna spend some time with Sam before the next event." I told my boyfriend.
He nodded. "Sounds good. Just be safe and if you need anything, don't hesitate to give me a call."
I smiled at him. "I won't, I promise."
He smiled back at me before he gave me a kiss and then he went to join the guys to who knows where. I caught up to my cousin as she was walking back to our hotel room and she was getting her karate gi.
"What's on your mind?" I asked her.
"I'm thinking about how terribly we are doing." She sighed. "My dad is right, we knew that it wasn't going to be easy. But it's definitely a lot of pressure."
"I feel the pressure too." I said as I went to my own suitcase and I grabbed my own karate gi.
Sam went to the bathroom to change and she closed the door but she made sure that I could hear her as we talked. Since she was in the bathroom and I was just in our room, I made it my duty to just change here. It won't take long.
"I figured that maybe we can have a talk with my dad before the event." She says.
"Yeah, that's fine." I told her as I tied my karate gi together.
Then after I had my gi on, I went to the mirror so that I could put my hair up. I just put it in a simple ponytail because I really didn't feel like having a completely cute hairstyle. I felt tired but I couldn't be so exhausted because as my uncle said, we have two more events happening today. We need all the energy we can get.
