After a long flight, we finally touched down in Barcelona. The plane ride had been filled with a mix of restless energy and quiet anticipation. As we disembarked, I could feel the excitement building.

We were here for the Sekai Taikai, one of the most prestigious karate tournaments in the world. My teammates and I gathered our bags and followed our senseis through the bustling airport, the reality of our journey sinking in with every step.

Outside, the city was alive with color and sound. The streets were filled with people, and the architecture was a stunning blend of old and new. I took a moment to soak it all in, feeling a sense of awe and gratitude for being here.

We hadn't entered the arena yet, but I could see it in the distance, a massive structure that seemed to pulse with the energy of countless competitions held within its walls.

Our senseis led us to a shaded area near the entrance, where we could take a moment to compose ourselves before stepping inside.

"Take it all in before we head inside." Johnny said as he stood next to my uncle.

All of our hard work is being paid off. I remember when it was this past summer when we were just trying to earn a spot for the tournament. Where Eli had gone up against Kenny and I went up against Devon. It's crazy how things have changed now because we are all in the same dojo. Now we're trying to win a global karate tournament.

"Are you nervous?" Eli asked from beside me.

"No." I shook my head. "Not nervous at all."

He smiled. "I'm glad to see your excitement."

"I'm holding it together though, I promise."

My boyfriend continued to smile and it made me have a smile on my face too because we're really doing this together. And it's also crazy to think that we've been dating for almost a year.

"Guys, gather around." I heard my uncle say.

We all stood next to each other as we waited for what my uncle would say. He's about to give us a pep talk or maybe some words of encouragement. I don't really know.

"Remember what was said back at home.." he started, "We're a team, we're Miyagi-Do. Be there for one another. This is next level so whenever you're fighting, be the best that you can be."

"LaRusso is right." Johnny then said. "We trained hard for this moment. Let's show the world what we're made of."

"Yes, sensei!" We all said.

Daniel and Johnny both smiled at all of us, feeling a sense of proud.

"And there is another thing.." Daniel said which made all of us have confused looks on our faces.

"What is it, dad?" Sam asked, feeling a bit worried.

"He's not here right now but Chozen will be here, he'll be in Barcelona for the tournament. He told me before we got on the plane."

We all nodded understanding what he said and feeling glad because Chozen is our sensei too. It'll be good if he was here.

"Okay, let's line up." Johnny said.

Sam and Robby were in the front behind the senseis' because they were the captains and then Miguel and Demetri were behind them. Then that left Eli and I in the back. We were ready and then we started to walk into the arena.

It still felt surreal to be here and when we walked down the stairs and saw the tournament display, I was astonished. It really felt like a world karate tournament and it's absolutely amazing. I'm thankful to be here and with my karate dojo.
