Clover's POV

I woke up to the soft glow of morning light filtering through the curtains. As I stirred, I became aware of the warmth beside me. My eyes fluttered open, and I found myself snuggled against Sebastian, his body half-buried under the sheets, his face peaceful and relaxed in sleep. A small smile crept onto my face as I remembered the way he had calmed me last night, his presence a steady anchor in the midst of my turmoil.

I couldn't help but feel a wave of comfort and a sense of safety. I never imagined I would be here, feeling this way about him—a vampire—let alone waking up beside him, my soon-to-be husband. But as I lay there, a sudden realization hit me, and my eyes widened.

Today was the day. My wedding day.

The day everything would change.

A mix of excitement and fear rushed through me, and my heart began to race at the thought of what this day would bring—the rituals, the transformation, and the inevitable confrontation with my mother. My breaths started to quicken, my mind spiraling into all the possibilities of how things could go wrong.

Before I could get lost in my thoughts completely, I felt Sebastian's strong arms pull me closer to him. I looked up, and his eyes, now open and alert, were gazing at me with a soft intensity. "Clover," he murmured, his voice husky from sleep, "I moved our wedding to tomorrow."

My eyes widened slightly in surprise. "What? Why?"

His lips curved into a gentle smile. "I thought it would be best to give us time to settle things with your mother. And also to give you some space to breathe and relax, after... everything." He paused, his gaze never leaving mine. "And for us to spend more time together, without the weight of what's to come pressing down on us."

I felt my body relax against his, the tension easing out of my shoulders. His thoughtfulness was unexpected, and it warmed me in a way I hadn't felt in a long time. "Thank you," I whispered, my voice barely audible.

"For now," he continued, his hand stroking my hair softly, "let's just lay like this for a few more minutes. No planning, no worries just you and me."

I nodded, letting myself sink into the comfort of his embrace. I tucked my head under his chin, listening to the steady beat of his heart. Despite everything that had happened and everything that was to come, in this moment, I felt a sense of peace. And for now, that was enough.

Sebastian chuckled softly, his face still half-buried in the pillow, clearly enjoying the comfort of the warm bed. "Why rush? We have the whole day ahead of us," he murmured lazily, pulling me closer again, his arms tightening around me.

I laughed, rolling my eyes. "Because, Sebastian, unlike you, I actually want to get up and face the day. We can't just stay in bed forever," I replied, trying to wriggle free from his grasp.

He smirked, clearly enjoying himself. "Oh, but I think we should stay here a little longer," he teased, his fingers tracing lightly along my side, sending a shiver up my spine.

Realizing he wasn't going to let go without a bit of a fight, I leaned back, using a bit of my strength, and with a swift motion, I pushed him off the bed. He landed on the floor with a soft thud, a mock look of betrayal on his face.

"Alright, alright, I get it," he chuckled, sitting up and rubbing the back of his head, his expression a mix of amusement and defeat. "You win this time, my little witch."

"Damn right, I do," I said, a grin spreading across my face. "Now, get up! We need to get ready and head over for breakfast."

Sebastian stood, still smiling, and shook his head with an exaggerated sigh. "You really are something, Clover."
