AN: Another chapter!!!

Courtney's POV

Saturday

9:55 PM

It was snowing again today so I stayed in today to finish my last assignments, papers and review for my exams.

Even with so much on my plate, my mind wandered to what happened a few days ago.

I shouldn't let it get to me but I was bothered by Duncan's behaviour, I know he's a businessman but what was going on was that he had to leave right away through heavy traffic and during a cold winter night.

Shaking my head I try to shake the thoughts of him out of my head, what was I thinking letting someone like him in my life, especially during a busy time in my life?

What bothered me most I was starting to like him.

I talked to Heather about it and apart from saying how close I was to getting deflowered by Duncan, I was surprised to hear her ask me " Are you gonna tell him you're not interested anymore?".

I've been through a lot these last 4 years...losing my dad...starting over...school...covering expenses and debts...now I'm trying to figure out if I should consider giving Duncan a chance.

Exhaling I look over at the window 🪟 to see the snowfall 🌨, thankfully it was only a flurry and not coming down heavy.

" Maybe I should call it a night, " I thought to myself closing my books 📚 and notebook 📓, I've been studying since noon and it was almost nine.

Once done I went into the kitchen to heat some leftover mac and cheese, since I've had school and work I thought it was an easy dinner.

Even with the extra money I had I still needed to be careful and not overspend, hopefully, once I graduate and start working then maybe I'll move 📦 to a bigger place. Even though I'll admit I kinda grew fond of this place, then again it had its issues including how the heat should be functioning properly, especially during this time.

I was wearing a grey long sweater dress, leggings and wool slipper - socks 🧦, it was enough to keep me warm for now.

After eating I put some water to boil for hot chocolate.

For weird reasons, sweet things always calmed me down.

Picking up my books I walked over to the living room to put them away in my bag when I got this weird feeling that I was being watched.

Looking over at the window I saw something on top of the other building across from me.

Dropping my things I immediately rushed over and for a moment I could have sworn I saw a large shadow or giant thing standing there as if it were overlooking something.

Holding the sides of my head I slowly rub my temples to help relax, god this happened when I was recovering from that night I saw that...my eyes opened up.

" It couldn't be " I whispered turning my head to check where I looked a moment ago " Is it? " I asked out loud.
