AN: The last chapter was exciting. What's next?

Normal POV

1 Week Later

Since the night of the outsiders in the Stone Wolves Territory, the Alpha was steaming mad for several reasons. He had questions being asked; The elders, other Alphas and his family were down his neck about how the territory was entered; these outsiders were the ones discussed at the last gathering; How many were there?; What plan of action was the Alpha taking it stop them?

Duncan sent out an order to everyone that more patrols were to be done at all hours of the day and night, with no exceptions. More investigations of how these outsiders entered their territory were being looked into. Groups were formed to go scout outside the city and forest.

It was an endless week of planning, meetings and decisions, but it was already something he did regularly; so it was nothing.

But because of this Duncan wasn't sleeping enough which made him angry and cruel to everyone. Most knew when to give him space but others weren't aware and would be yelled at.

Duncan's POV

12:00 PM

Geoff, DJ and Bridgette sat in front of my desk as I worked on a current plan for the company along with looking over new reports sent to me this morning.

" Shouldn't you all be working on something? " I asked not looking up at them as I multi-tasked all the work I needed to catch up on since I immediately had to come up with emergency plans for the pack.

" Did you sleep last night? " asks Geoff being the brave one to speak "You don't look good Duncan " says Bridgette and she's not wrong I haven't slept all week, due to going on patrols in and outside the city with everyone. I could care less about sleep, I just want everyone to be safe.

" Bridge I want you to send this proposal to the address I noted and have them come in for a meeting either today or tomorrow, " I said handing her a folder "Alright I'll work on it right now " answered Bridgette taking the folder 📂 then leaves to go to work.

" Hey you need to go home and get some sleep," says DJ concerned "No I'm fine I gotta do this work " I answer picking up another folder.

Hearing a heavy sigh " I noticed something the other day and thought it was interesting " said Geoff casually "Oh yeah what? " asks DJ intrigued while I just listened " I saw Cody patrolling an area both last and this week...kinda thought it was interesting " explained Geoff now getting me to look away from work.

"That's interesting are he and the others patrolling there? " DJ asked still intrigued "That's the funny thing it's just him " explains Geoff now looking at me, but with a smile 😏.

Shit did he figure it out!?

" DJ can I talk alone with Geoff " I said in an upset tone of voice making the giant nervous "Okay I got some work to do...good luck Geoff, " he said before rushing off.

I stood up from my seat and glared at Geoff who still had that smile on his face "Don't get mad...it was easy to figure out and put the puzzle together " he explained.

Geoff has been like this since we were kids, nothing could ever get past him and if there was a secret he figured it out.

" Hey I'm happy for you...your dad won't like this one bit but you know I got your back many of us do, " he says calmly "Although it's fascinating that you finally have someone in mind when you said you weren't looking " he adds.
