The Next Day

Heathers Condo

12:00 PM

My morning classes were done for now and my third class today wasn't til 3:00, Heather called me to come over to hang out a bit since her classes were going to start later.

We were in her living room, she worked on some sketches for a project while I read 📖 and made notes on a chapter for my class.

" Okay I need a break, " says Heather loudly which got my attention " Really? But you've barely started " I state looking up to see her stretch " Yes but you know me I'm a genius " she replies while picking up one of the magazines she enjoys reading.

Giggling at her I was about to go back to my book when I noticed a magazine that wasn't fashion-related.

Putting my book and pen down I reach for the Legends Business Magazine which is filled with business-market-related articles, stocks and other serious topics.

" You read this? " I asked my eyes looking between the magazine and Heather getting her to look away from the magazine " Oh that no, I didn't read it I took it by mistake from Daddy's office and I forgot about it " she explained shrugging her shoulders " but speaking of business you have yet to tell me about that drink you threw in that guys face " Heather adds while smiling.

Right, I told Heather about the party I served at; and how Trent was there; I got bullied by his ex; lastly I told her about this guy who I spoke to for a bit; only to find out that it was nothing but a bet.

" You gotta admit feels good doesn't it? " she asks knowing that she was referring to our double date when she threw wine in Alejandro's face.

" Yes it did feel good and quitting that night was both good and bad " I replied thinking how quitting a good-paying gig wasn't wise especially when I relied on it. The Diner pays okay, but I'll be struggling to pay the next semester, and I can't fall behind on graduating.

" I can't believe Trent was there, " she says rolling her eyes "Neither did I, " I reply remembering how I once thought he was nice "Hey come on forget him and don't think about giving him a chance, especially after what his ex did to you, " Heather states which I won't disagree on " who does that bitch think she is for treating you like a servant " she adds.

Sighing heavily I just let it go and try to move on from it, I don't think I'll see Trent again so all should be good.

"I'm curious about this guy you threw whisky at, give me some details, " said Heather smiling in anticipation "I wanna forget him too and move on like I said before I've got too much on my plate to think of people like them " I explain shaking my head, but then I remember yesterday.

Standing up I reached for my purse 👛 " you wouldn't believe me if I told you this but he came to the diner yesterday " I said opening my purse "No way whisky guy came to the diner...details give me more details "exclaimed Heather very excited.

" It was no big deal and I barely gave him attention " I reply pulling my wallet out "Good he deserved that did you get his name? " asked Heather curiously, " he told me at the party...it was Duncan and he left me his card yesterday " I explained calmly as I search threw my wallet apart of me wanted to throw it out, but for a strange reason I kept it.
