It's official the semester is done.
" You okay? " asked Heather as she drove " Yeah why? " I ask back " I was just saying how my re-date with Alejandro went and you've been staring into space " she explains glancing at the GPS.
I guess I must have been deep in my thoughts.
" Maybe it's a good thing we're going away for the weekend to clear our minds after everything... school, exams and projects " explains Heather smiling at me.
For once I agree with Heather especially when she wanted to do something more relaxed and down to earth.
When she asked me to join her on a weekend trip to her family's lake house it surprised me. She said it's nice during this time of year, especially with snow 🌨️ .
Speaking of snow a lot has been coming lately, I was concerned that maybe the roads would be bad but thankfully they've been cleared.
" I appreciate you inviting me," I said looking out the car window to see snow-covered trees as we drove " Normally I would wanna fly out somewhere but I thought why not give nature a chance " said Heather "We should be there in another hour I called ahead to have the place set up for us including food and wine 🍷 " she adds making me smile.
" Sounds good " I sighed resting my head on the heated car seat, before speaking.
" So your date with Alejandro went well? " I asked smiling " I'll admit he did good " she explained grinning which meant something else " I'm glad you gave him another chance" I replied.
Shrugging her shoulders Heather's cheeks turned a bit red " So what made you change your mind about him cause at the club you ignored him? " I asked curiously " At the club, he came over to me and asked to talk and you know how I am " laughed Heather including myself.
I could only imagine what the poor guy had to deal with.
* BUZZ * * BUZZ *
Jumping at the vibration I take my phone 📱 out.
" Speaking of guys...aren't you gonna reply to your boyfriend " teases Heather followed by giggling 🤭 making me grunt lightly.
Feeling my cheeks warm up from her comment.
It hasn't been long since Duncan and I became official and I'll admit it's been great. We went on our first date last week and he was a gentleman. He even sends me flowers with sweet notes and I can't help feeling happy.
