Cabin

The events that occurred 3 days ago were exhausting for everyone, but no one was more tired than Duncan who didn't leave Courtney's side, he thought it would be best til she recovered completely before they all headed back.

They all should have returned a few days ago, but it mattered to Duncan that Courtney recovered well.

Every morning, noon and night Duncan was there to tend to Courtney ensuring her fever wasn't getting worse, keeping her cool with cold cloths and checking where the mark was. The recovery time was slow; today she no longer felt much pain, meaning the morphine drip could be removed.

Bridgette assisted in making sure to keep the wound clean and check for any signs of infections; thankfully there were no signs of Courtney getting worse. Lastly, her fever had gone down another big relief.

Noah returned to check on Courtney's recovery and to put Duncan's mind at ease.

Everyone saw how their Alpha was acting, he was different now that he had his mate.

While Noah examined Courtney the guys forced Duncan to go outside on the lake.

" Calm down," said DJ crossing his arms and watching Duncan pace back and forth " She's going to be fine," says Trent staring at the frozen lake " I can't help it what if she isn't getting better but worse " replies Duncan upset.

Shaking their heads Geoff steps forward " Listen she's getting better if anything some rest is all she'll need " he explains " I agree you just need to get your mind off the worst " adds Alejandro.

Just then the cabin door opened making them all look; but before anyone could say anything Duncan ran to the cabin leaving the others behind.

As soon as he arrived Duncan rushed up to Noah...

" How is she? " he asks rushing to the doctor who stares at the alpha shocked "Okay calm down or I'll have to sedate you " replied Noah closing the cabin door.

" JUST TELL ME WHAT'S HER CONDITION!!!! " yelled Duncan now upset.

Shaking his head Noah starts talking followed by showing one finger ☝️...

" One...she's recovering well...two ✌️...her iron is a bit low...three...I recommend she stay in bed resting for a few more days...four...I gave her a prescription 💊 and lastly to you...🖕don't demand answers " he said before walking away.

Growling at the doctor Duncan reminded himself to get him back for the disrespect.

" Damn Noah's got guts " chuckles Geoff as he and the others arrived "Yes I'm amazed you didn't kill him," said Alejandro while DJ and Trent laughed.

Just as Duncan was about to speak he suddenly picked up a scent, it wasn't a threat but could be something to clear his mind.

" You guys smell that? " he asks the others looking in the direction across the lake "Yeah deer 🦌 " answers Alejandro smiling "A good source of both protein and iron " comments Geoff raising a brow.

" Give me a moment let me go check on Courtney," said Duncan going inside the Cabin.

After Noah finished his checkup on me; I was glad he gave me good news but recommended for me to be on bed rest for a few more days.
