Friday

" And times up pencil ✏️ down Courtney " announced my professor from his desk.

Sighing heavily I closed my booklet with the test slip inside before I walked over to hand it in. Along with gathering my new bag and books 📚. Heather knew I would be upset and surprised me with a new school bag, it looked more like a designer purse, but I truly appreciated it.

" I truly appreciate you allowing me to take the test " I reply standing in front of his desk " I'm glad you're alright it would be a shame to lose my top student, " he says concerned.

" Thank you once again and I appreciate the material from last week's class," I said before leaving the classroom.

Once I got outside I walked down the steps but as I did I heard some speaking and other students making their way to the main grounds excited.

"What's going on? " I asked out loud slowly making my way to see what was going on.

" Courtney " someone calls out.

Turning I see both Zoey and Mike running to me "Did you hear " asks Mike smiling "Hear what? " I asked confused "Oh my gosh it's huge and amazing news," said Zoey as we all walked together.

Still confused about what they were talking about I listened.

" Right, you were home resting...sorry," says Zoey feeling bad "It's okay but please tell me what's going on? Cause I missed something " I said looking between them.

" So the Dean of the college got a huge proposal by the CEO of Stone Trades Corporation...you heard of them? " he asks me hearing that name "It sounds familiar " I replied now regretting asking what's going on " The CEO is donating a program to help off-campus students that don't have transportation get to and from the school all paid by his company  " explains Zoey.

I was surprised to hear this I didn't think companies or corporations were charitable, especially when I've applied for countless scholarships they sponsor.

" Yeah he's here today the Dean wanted to thank him personally in front of the students and faculty for his generosity," said Mike making me stop walking " he's here? " I ask nervously " Of course he is that's why everyone is excited and a lot of girls too," said Zoey cluelessly.

As soon as we arrived it surprised us to see everyone here and waiting in anticipation, the stage was set with microphones 🎤 and reporters were in the front while behind them students waited.

" Okay um...should we be here? " I asked looking at the two "It's not every day a billionaire makes a public presence," said Mike looking ahead "Yeah plus I've heard he gives great speeches," said Zoey smiling.

I was just about to excuse myself when everyone started cheering loudly which meant.

Looking back at the stage there walking with the Dean and the other school faculty members was Duncan along with some coworkers and bodyguards.

Although, I gotta admit he looks nice in a suit.

Courtney get that thought out of your mind right now!!!

Inhaling calmly I look ahead, what's the worst that could happen, I mean it's not he can spot me in this crowd.
