1 Month Later

1:00 PM

I was working in my office looking over reports for the company and so far so good, but I think we could do better.

I never would have thought I'd prefer working than going out to have fun, even though nowadays it's for good reason.

Since the meeting with Dad and the elders, word got out that the Alpha leader of the Stone Wolf pack was looking for a mate. When I found out I was pissed and who better to take out my frustration than Dad and the elders. My anger was beyond tamable that I called the gathering outside the city,

Most of the elders were scared beyond shitless and learned to never go behind my back again, Dad was barely phased by it.

It took a while for me to calm down that is until Mom came to see me. She started by saying how proud she was for standing up to the elders and telling
Dad to back off. For a brief moment, I thought she was going to be on my side until she said that it was time I found a mate.

Of course, I felt betrayed by her saying that, but then she went on explaining how much it would mean to her to see me with a suitable mate who would make me happy.

Mom was still hurt that neither of my brothers got the chance to get married. Lincoln hadn't chosen a mate at the time. John was dating his potential wife, but after his death, she couldn't handle losing him and moved away to start a new life.

Now that I was the only one left the pressure was on me. Just the problem is all these female wolves care more about my family status, power and money.

Not to mention I'm the most eligible bachelor, I'm practically in every business magazine, newspaper 📰 and online article about my success in running my family business, leadership, determination and future goals.

Finding or even meeting someone who will tolerate me let alone even....remotely love me sounds impossible.

* Knock * * knock *

" Come in, " I said looking at the door to see who could be bothering me.

I hate being bothered unless it's a matter of business.

Watching the door open I immediately recognized this scent and I wasn't sure whether to welcome this person or just make them leave...

" Hi Duncan " greeted Gwen entering my office " Good afternoon Gwen " I answered keeping a straight expression.

Gwen was a wolf from the Snow Wolf pack, her Dad was the Alpha who followed my rules and highly respected me.

" So what do I owe you for this unexpected visit? " I asked remaining seated as she walked towards me walking in her seductive manner along with looking very formal.
