Warning:
Slight mention of suicide
Y/N slowly opened her eyes, quickly having to squint them shut at the bright light in the room she was laying in.
She sat up and bit back a wince. There wasn't a single spot on her body that wasn't in pain. She pushed her back against the headboard of the bed, finally acknowledging that she was in the hospital.
The phantom pains coming from her right forced her eyes to land on where her arm should've been. At least, where her actual arm should've been.
A metal one took the place of her flesh one. Flashes of what transpired flooded her mind, her arm ripping off during her desperate attempt to save Shoto.
Shoto.
Was he okay?
Y/N slowly lifted her right, metal arm, studying the thin fingers with her tired eyes.
She heard a crash from the door of the hospital room, snagging her attention as the young girl looked to the cause of the sudden noise.
Shota Aizawa looked even more exhausted than he usually was. How couldn't he?
He could count on his fingers how much sleep he got during the weeks she was gone. He could count on a single hand how much sleep he got during the time she's been in the hospital, and she had been comatose for two full weeks.
But he couldn't even come close to understanding what exactly Y/N had been through.
He stood at the door, unable to move, the glass vase he was holding of flowers laid on the floor in a shattered mess.
"Mister- Aizawa" Y/N whispered, her hands resting on her lap before lowering her gaze.
"I'm deeply sorry for all that I've-" she began but he wouldn't let her finish.
Her eyes widened when the man walked closer and pulled her into a hug, trying to be mindful of her injuries, but even if she was in pain by his actions, she didn't voice it. She stayed completely still in his hold. And he was grateful for that.
"Don't say sorry right now. Don't worry about anything like that until you're able to leave here" Aizawa said, hugging her tighter, as if he was afraid she would disappear.
"I know we have so many mixed feelings, Shota. Though, I can read you like an open book."
"Doubt that, Shinobu."
"Even so, putting all of that aside for the moment, I do have something to ask of you."
"What is it now?"
"In the event that Kanae and I are unable to look after Y/N, I ask that you take care of her in our place."
"What are you blabbering on about? Nothing's going to happen. But if it makes you stop bothering me, then I assure you, I'll watch over her. She's still my student, after all."
"I'm sorry" Aizawa whispered with silent tears running down his face, keeping the frail girls face hidden in his clothing as he kept his arms tightly wrapped around her.
Y/N had a feeling he wasn't apologizing to her.
But to someone of so much importance to the both of them.

"Once the police surrounded the area, that's when they saw you walking out with Shoto before you collapsed from the blood loss" Aizawa explained, sitting at the girls bedside.
After the doctors checked over Y/N and ran some test, they left the girl to get some well deserved rest. But she was far more worried than tired.
