First thing next morning, Orm stepped into the hospital, balancing a lunch bag in one hand and her phone in the other, trying to focus on her conversation with Faye.

"When are you finally going on that date, Orm?" Faye's voice rang through the phone, sounding both insistent and impatient.

Orm sighed, rolling her eyes as she approached Doctor Lingling Kwong's office. "Faye, I'll call you back in three minutes, okay? I'm going to the toilet. " She didn't wait for her sister's response before ending the call, relieved to have a moment of peace.

Entering Lingling's office, Orm placed the lunch bag gently on the table, adding a little personal touch—a lipstick-stained note that read, "Enjoy your meal, my favourite Doctor! -your future girlfriend. " She smiled, admiring the small detail she left behind. Just as she finished setting everything up, the door creaked open.

Just as she finished setting everything up, the door creaked open, revealing the doctor herself.

Lingling looked up, surprised to see Orm. She'd half-expected that after their last encounter, she wouldn't see Orm again. Seeing her now, a wave of relief and happiness washed over her. She tried to mask her smile, but it slipped through.

"Hi," Orm said shyly, her cheeks flushing slightly at the sight of the doctor. "I came to drop off the usual meals."

Dr. Kwong's eyes widened as she looked at the lovingly prepared food. "Oh, you didn't have to—" she started but cut off by the phone ring that didn't belong to her. As she heard the younger groaned.

Orm glancing down to see Faye's name lighting up her screen. "Ugh, God... not again," Orm muttered, answering the call. "What now! I told you I'd call you back."

Faye's voice was loud and persistent on the other end. "No, you need to answer me right now! When are you going on that date I set up?"

Orm's frustration spilt over. "You and that date! I told you, I'll think about it," she snapped before hanging up abruptly.

Lingling, who had been watching the whole interaction with growing curiosity, raised an eyebrow. "A date?" she asked, muttering to herself, though there was a hint of something in her tone—interest, maybe? Or... was it something more?

Orm shrugged it off with a small smile, trying to play it cool. "God, my sister keeps trying to set me up with one of her colleagues. She won't let it go."

Lingling's lips pressed together in a thin smile. She wasn't sure why, but the idea of Orm going on a date made her feel a strange twinge of... something. She couldn't quite name it, but it gnawed at her, an uncomfortable sensation sitting in her chest.

Orm, sensing the slight change in Ling's demeanour, smiled widely and walked over to the doctor. "But forget about that," she said brightly, stepping closer until they were barely inches apart.

Ling's breath hitched, her heart speeding up as Orm's amber eyes locked onto hers.

"What are you doing?" Ling asked, her voice coming out softer than she intended. She was suddenly very aware of how close they were.
