The tension in the room finally eased when the doctor came out, giving the family a comforting nod. "I can assure you, Mrs.Armstrong is awake and stable now. You can see her."

For a split second, no one moved. Then Becky's breath hitched, and before anyone could beat her, she bolted into the room.

Her heart was in her throat, her hands trembling as she threw herself at Freen. She wrapped her arms around her wife, hugging her so tight that Freen could barely breathe.

"God Freen... I thought I lost you," Becky sobbed into Freen's neck, her voice barely holding together. "I thought you were gone." Her grip tightened as if she was scared that she would slip away if she let go.

Freen, still groggy and weak, smiled softly, her fingers brushing Becky's back in an attempt to calm her down. "I'm still here, love," she whispered, though her voice was raspy. "Not going anywhere."

Becky pulled back for a second, her tear-filled eyes scanning Freen's face, like she still couldn't believe it. "Stop scaring the hell out of me! Enough!" Her voice broke, and she leaned in again, hugging Freen with every ounce of strength she had left. "Never do that again. Promise me this will never happen again."

Freen chuckled softly, though even that seemed to take effort. "I promise."

Behind them, Anton stepped in, his face tight with emotion, Elissa cradled in his arms. He wasn't the type to get all sentimental, but this was different.

Freen had always been like a daughter to him—no matter how tough or cold she acted. He leaned down, pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead, something he rarely did. "You scared us all," he said, his voice gruff. "I'm starting to believe you do this on purpose for the attention"

Freen managed a small, tired smile. "I'll... try not to," she said, her voice weak but filled with affection. "I'm stronger than I look"

Amelia, her little girl, was lying down, resting her head on Becky's chest. Freen's heart nearly broke at the sight of her daughter, safe and sound. Her eyes filled with tears, not from pain, but from sheer relief. "Lia," she whispered, her voice cracking. "My princess... you're okay."
