As Lingling pulled up in front of Fay's grandmother's house, the soft hum of her G-Wagon engine filled the quiet street. She parked the car and stepped out, walking around to open the door for Orm. With a smooth motion, she pulled the door open, extending her hand to help Orm out of the car.
Orm smiled warmly, stepping out, and as they began walking toward the front door, she glanced at the car. "I didn't take you for a G-Wagon person. I thought you'd be more into sports cars, doctor."
Ling laughed, shaking her head as they began walking toward the house. "You're not wrong. I do have a McLaren sitting in my garage. Next time, I'll bring that to impress you." She threw a playful glance Orm's way.
"Next time, huh?" Orm arched an eyebrow, her lips curling into a small, amused smile. "You seem pretty sure there's going to be a next time."
Ling playfully scoffed, nudging her lightly with her shoulder. "Hmmmm It's not a question, it's a demand, So no chance for you to argue"
Orm giggled, trying to act cool, but inside she was doing little happy dances. "Well, I'm looking forward to seeing you try and impress me with that McLaren, doctor," she said, tilting her head in playful challenge.
They reached the door, and for a moment, both of them stood there, lingering in the silence of the night. Ling glanced at Orm, who looked back with a soft, expectant expression on her face. The doctor noticed how Orm wasn't making any move to go inside.
Ling shifted awkwardly, unsure of what Orm was waiting for, her mind racing. "Why isn't she going in?" she thought. She cleared her throat, feeling a bit nervous.
Ling, however, was still unsure why Orm hadn't gone inside yet. She shifted on her feet, feeling a bit out of her depth, wondering if she should make a move or just say goodnight.
"Well," Ling began, scratching the back of her neck awkwardly, "I guess I should—"
Orm interrupted, her eyes sparkling mischievously. "Aren't you forgetting something?"
Ling blinked, genuinely confused. "Uh... what do you mean?"
Orm's pout deepened as she crossed her arms, leaning against the doorframe. "Isn't this the part where you kiss me goodnight?"
Back again with this bold blunt behavior, as Ling thought in her head.
Ling's breath caught in her throat, and her heart pounded as she processed Orm's bold request. Her usual composure slipped as she fumbled for words, "I—uh..."
But before Ling could respond, Orm, with a quick movement, took things into her own hands. She grabbed Ling's arm and pulled her closer, planting a quick kiss on the side of Ling's lips. The action was so sudden that Ling barely had time to register it before Orm pulled away, her cheeks flushed, giggling softly.
