Rachel
Bear and I walked in together. It was slow going seeing as Bear insisted that we had to stop every now and then to make sure my energy lasted, which Bear turned into a game, pointing out various points of interest. He held my hand in one hand, and a bag with some additional clothes in the other. I actually think he was prolonging the time we spent together before he had to leave. I didn't mind.
Daisy eventually came out and hissed at us.
"So getting me in trouble, get a move on!"
Bear sighed and pulled a face.
"If you hurry up, you might find that you won't need that." Daisy pointed at the bag and stomped off. A slow smile spread across Bear's face.
"Do you think that she means I might be coming back home again?" I asked him, hopefully.
"One way to find out," he replied and and we sped up a bit.The nurses shuffled me into a small room and told me to wait for Dr Jenny. This is a free book through Wattpad. This is a true free to read app which means you don't need to pay anything to binge read this story in its entirety. If you've found this on another app, please report them and rate them 1 stars, letting other know that they have stolen their material. They stuck Bear outside in one of the chairs in the waiting room made of a hard material called plastic. I didn't really like being separated from him like this. But I knew I could trust the people here.
Jenny came in with a smile on her face.
"Congratulations, Mrs Corby, how are you feeling?"
I grinned at the name she gave me.
"I'm good, Thank you."
Jenny sat down,
"Now I'm guessing by the amount of time that it took for you to arrive, you had a good night."
I blushed, I had a very good night.
"Yes, it was lovely." I replied.
Jenny huffed in amusement
"Rachel, the reason we're talking in here without Bear is I've got to ask you some very personal questions. Now, don't look worried. Your answers will not get you into any sort of trouble."
I nodded carefully.
"Sooooo, how was your wedding night?"
Jenny made it sound as if she was gossiping like I'd heard the nurses do, rather than asking questions. I blushed, remembering the things that we'd done, the intimate way Bear had cared for me after.
"Tell me," Jenny lent forward," is he proportional? I mean, he's a big guy... is everything big? No, no, don't answer that. I'm sorry that wasn't very professional of me." She sat upright as I giggled. "What I mean to ask, is... do you have any residual soreness or tenderness?"
"No," I answered, " not really, not as much as after Pa tried. But Bear is bigger, just a lot more gentle... and considerate."
Jenny had stiffened when I mentioned Pa, and softened when I mentioned Bear.
"Bear even took care to clean me up... after. He's very sweet." I added.
"That's a good boy," Jenny mumbled. She sighed and seemed to make a decision.
"Rachel, I want you to know... what your Pa did. It's considered very bad. There are people who are sent to jail for forcing themselves into women like it sounds like what your Pa did. You always have the right to say No, and expect them to stop." She blurted out.
I looked at her.
"That's what Bear said. If I don't like what's he's doing, tell him and he'd stop."
Jenny nodded, and I continued, "but he stopped before I said no. I got scared when he got near my breasts, and he stopped before I realised what..."
Jenny smiled, and reached over to me.
"You have a good husband there. You're very lucky."
"God has answered my prayers." I replied.
Jenny sighed and replied, "yes, yes, he certainly has delivered. But then he probably owed you big time. Anyway, I need to check and make sure you're OK to go home."
"I don't have to stay?"
"Only if you keep coming back for checks, and keep eating healthy. Now, has Bear talked with you about contraception? It may not be wise to fall pregnant while you're still recovering."
"What would happen if I did?"
"There's more chance that you will have complications, such as pre eclampsia, anaemia, and basically increases the risk of death."
I thought carefully. Ma had been very thin and sick during her last few pregnancies. There were also times when her ankles swelled up so badly she couldn't move."What are my options with delaying a pregnancy?" I asked. Dr Jenny gave them to me.
"Do you think I'd be healthier in three months? If I take the shot, then we could leave it up to His will when it wears off. What do you think?"
Jenny smiled and relaxed.
"Yes, and if you're not healthier, then we can look at this again."I nodded. It was a powerful feeling, making decisions for myself without a man guiding me. But it seems that this was normal for women here. Even Mrs Fletcher seemed to have more independence than Ma did.
"Is that a yes to the injection, Rachel?" Jenny asked me, jolting me out of my thoughts.
"Yes, I would like to use the injection option until I'm healthy. Um, do I need to get Bear's permission? Or tell him?" I replied.
Jenny looked at me and answered with a question.
"What do you think?"
I thought carefully
"I think, Bear would like to know, but he wouldn't like to make the decision for me. He already said that I own my body, and I guess that means I make the decisions that are best for me?"
Jenny smiled.
"You've got a good man. He's right. You make the decisions on what is best for your body."I took a deep breath in and sighed. I felt in control. I liked the feeling.
"Would you like him to come in and hold your hand while I get one of the nurses to give your the injection?" Jenny offered.
"Is that OK?"
"Yes, I think so. He can be the hero and make sure you don't hurt too much." She laughed.
