Horse

I knocked on Mom's bedroom door with the breakfast tray. I opened it when I heard her move.
"Hey Momma, how are you feeling?" I asked as I walked in.
"Morning Jason, I think it will be a good day today." Momma was sitting up in her bed. I gave her her medication and sat down on her bed while she ate. She was wrong, it wasn't a good day for her.
"Let me do that for you, Momma." I said taking over the cutlery.
"What comes around, goes around. I remember feeding you like this." She chuckled. When it was just the two of us she felt the most comfortable to accept help. But it was a double edged sword, because I could see how much more help she needed.

"I've got some great gossip today." I told her.
"Is it something to do with Bear? I heard you rushing off last night." She asked. I nodded.
"He showed me a ring that he'd gotten in Afghanistan." I winked at her while I lifted the spoon up. She took a mouthful with twinkling eyes. I winked at her as she swallowed.
"Really? When??"
"Today I think." I replied.
She giggled,
"Well I'm guessing the wedding will be very soon. I'm glad. He deserves happiness."

"Who's getting married?" Marilyn came into the room. Mom gave me a quick wink and then exclaimed.
"What are you wearing? It's that really appropriate for work?"
"Brian doesn't complain."
"That's because he doesn't notice." I added.
"He doesn't notice what?" Mom asked
"He doesn't notice what she wears. He gets a confused look on his face when I mention Maz is interested in him."
"One day he will," Maz sashayed out of the room.
I got a text from Bear as she cleared the doorway, which I showed Mom.
"Who gets the honor to tell Maz?"
Mom touched the words in the phone. she said yes
"Let him tell people, it's their news. Maz can't keep a secret."

Bear
I left Rachel reading in the bed. We'd met with her team, and she was recovering well enough to be released soon. As soon as we could work out where she could stay to continue the rest of her recovery. I hoped that Jonathon would come through with the wedding arrangements as soon as possible. I wanted to bring her home.

I walked into the store with a smile on my face.
"Well, look what the cat dragged in." Maz snarked at me.
"Morning Marilyn. What's happening?"
"Nothing much, did you manage to get through the order list?"
"Yep. Anything needing my signature?"
Marilyn handed me a pile of papers, then followed me to my office.
"So rumor is one of the Ares Riders is getting married. Who is it?"
I looked at her.
"That was quick, how did you find out?"
Marilyn shrugged,
"I actually overheard Momma and Jason talking this morning. She said something about a wedding happening soon. But they didn't say anything about who it was. Do you know?" She perched on the edge of my desk and lent towards me.
I smiled happily and nodded.
"Yep, me... so you'd better stop the flirting with the boys around the office and dress a bit better. I know the boys appreciate it. But my wife won't, and I'm all about keeping her happy. Move your arse please. "
I took a pen and poked her thigh until she moved off my desk
"You?!" She gasped.
I grinned and thought of Rachel.
"Yes Maz me, I'm the luckiest bastard in the world."
"I had no idea you were seeing anyone."
"I know."
I waved Marilyn away.
"Go on, I've got work to do, and a cut to order."
She stomped through the door and I heard her screech.
"Did you know?"
I had a quiet chuckle to myself. The news will be out around the town by tonight.

Prez

I walked up to Janie and put my arms around her.
"What are you up to?" She hummed to me.
"Do you want to attend a wedding?" I whispered in her ear.
"Bear?"
I nodded into her neck.
"Definitely," she replied. "Do we tell the kids?"
"Let's tell Eric, he's been a bit worried."
Janie turned in my arms and put her hands under my cut.
"That's a good idea. You're a very considerate man. Have you ordered the cut?" She hummed at me.
"Of course. I'm considerate like that."
"Mmm can you spare some consideration for your wife while the kids are at school?"
"That's what I actually am here for. The gossip is just a way to get your attention."
Janie lent forward and brushed her lips against mine.
"You get my attention very easily. But you better hurry. They'll be back soon."
I growled in happiness and took my Janie girl to show her some consideration.

Bear

I read Prez's text confirming the cut was on its way. I wondered how I'd explain that to Rachel. Actually I might get Daisy to explain it. She had very firm views on what it meant, and I was 100% in line with those views. This is a free book available through Wattpad (c) LTM1986. If you are not reading this on Wattpad, it had been stolen.
Then I got a call from Jonathon saying he'd gotten Rachel's birth certificate from the house, and to meet him at the courthouse. We were going to get the marriage licence, so he could conduct the marriage in three days time. Three days!

I opened my office door and looked over the shed. There were cars banked up as the boys were serving customers, loading feed, unloading deliveries. I wanted to show Rachel this. Share my success with her. In three days, it could all be possible. I tapped one of the guys on the shoulder as I passed.
"I'm out, call me if you need me. Let the others know."
"No problem, and congratulations! I heard you got yourself a woman and proposed."
I flashed a big grin at him.
"No sense in waiting when you find the right one, is there?"
"Not when she says yes. Besides it improves the odds for the rest of us."
I waved off that comment, grabbed my ID and rode off to meet Jonathon.
