CHISAKI KAI PRIDED himself on his strict routine. Even at eleven, his days were meticulously planned, down to every minute. There was no room for distractions, no time to waste on things that didn't contribute to his larger goals.

But today, something irked at the back of his mind, an unwelcome disturbance. Her words. He couldn't shake them, no matter how hard he tried. The memory of her voice lingered, as if she had spoken directly to some hidden part of him he wasn't aware of yet.

Her sapphire blue eyes were the worst part. There was something in them—something unspoken, as though she carried a secret only she was privy to. It unsettled him, made him feel as though he'd missed something vital.

With a scowl, he shook off the thought, trying to banish her from his mind. She was just another hero wannabe with a disgusting quirk. A future pro hero destined to follow the same path of sickness and filth that plagued the world. And yet, despite all his reasoning, her presence clung to him like an unwanted stain.

Kai hated that. He hated her.

His hands itched, a familiar sensation that always came when his frustrations surfaced. He rubbed his palms against his sleeves to quell the imaginary hives that flared at the mere thought of quirks. Filth. They were all just filth. And she... she was no different, despite those eyes that seemed to see through him.

Turning back to his work within the yakuza, he buried himself in tasks, organizing ledgers, overseeing operations—anything to distract himself. But his mind wouldn't let go. She lingered at the edges of his thoughts like a pest he couldn't squash. It infuriated him that her presence still haunted him, that even his ruthless focus wasn't enough to erase her from his mind.

He slammed a hand down onto his desk, the sound echoing through the room.

He needed to meet her again. He had to understand why her words, her gaze, had managed to disrupt his perfectly structured world.

The need gnawed at him.

So here he was, gloves meticulously strapped on, mask secured tightly to shield him from the filth of the outside world. Kai had finally pinpointed the exact location of the school she attended after hours of careful observation.
