The news reporter's voice wavered, her surroundings trembling as objects fell around her. The chaos of the studio mirrored the pandemonium outside. Rising sea levels had doubled in mere minutes, leaving meteorologists scrambling for answers. Where had this earthquake come from? And why was the sea surging with such terrifying speed?
The eastern side of the world was spiraling into panic.
The water sphere surrounding you and Shigaraki collapsed with a deafening crash, soaking both of you as the tremors continued. Your phone blared with an emergency alarm, the shrill sound punctuating the oppressive tension in the room.
"What the hell is going on?!" you stammered, stumbling against the violent shaking as Shigaraki reached out to steady you.
The TV rattled in the corner, blaring footage of colossal waves slamming into coastal barriers, water spilling over and consuming the land. Buildings near the shores were being battered relentlessly, their silhouettes swallowed by the monstrous tide.
Shigaraki's grip tightened on your arm as he pieced the fragments of the puzzle together. His crimson eyes darted between your panicked expression and the chaos on the screen. His breath hitched as realization struck him like a lightning bolt.
"[Name]," he said, his voice sharp and desperate. "LISTEN TO ME. YOU HAVE TO CALM DOWN!" He grabbed your shoulders and shook you slightly, his words a futile attempt to penetrate the storm raging in your mind.
"CALM DOWN?!" you shouted, voice cracking as fear clawed at your throat. "HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO CALM DOWN WHEN WE'RE ABOUT TO BE SEVEN FEET UNDER?"
Panic twisted your features as you clasped your hands in mock prayer. "Please, universe, if I die today, reincarnate me into Naruto, I'm begging you!"
Shigaraki barely processed your frantic words. His brain was racing, calculating, connecting dots faster than he ever had before. He stared at you, at the cracks forming in the walls from the shaking.
