"CHICHI!" your voice rang out through the chaos as you dashed toward Aizawa, Kouta clutched tightly in your arms. Your father's head whipped around, his sharp eyes widening ever so slightly in surprise at the sight of you. Dirt streaked your face, and your breathing was heavy, but your resolve was unwavering.
As you skidded to a stop in front of him, you gently set Kouta down by his side. "Please, take care of him," you said, your voice firm despite the tremor of urgency. "He's safe now, but I have to go."
"Wait, [Name]!" Aizawa reached out, his hand gripping your wrist as his eyes searched your face. "Where do you think you're going?"
"To stop this," you answered simply, your eyes glinting with determination. "I can't just stand here while the others are in danger."
His grip tightened, his usually calm demeanor cracking ever so slightly. "It's too dangerous. You can't—"
"I have to!" you cut him off, your voice rising. "You know I can't stay back. Trust me, Chichi."
Aizawa's jaw clenched, his grip faltering. He hated this—the thought of you running straight into danger. But he could see it in your eyes: the same stubborn resolve he had seen countless times before. He knew he couldn't stop you, and it tore at him.
"Be careful," he said at last, his voice low and heavy. "And don't do anything reckless. If things get too dangerous, you pull back. Understood?"
You nodded, a small smile tugging at your lips. "I'll be fine," you promised, though the words felt hollow even to you. You turned and sprinted off into the forest, your figure vanishing into the shadows.
Aizawa stood frozen for a moment, his heart pounding in a way it hadn't in years. He crouched down beside Kouta, his hand resting protectively on the boy's shoulder. But his mind was elsewhere—on you.
Minutes later, Midoriya stumbled into view, his uniform tattered and his face pale with exhaustion. His eyes darted around frantically until they landed on Aizawa.
"Sensei!" he gasped, stumbling toward him. "Where's [Name]?"
Aizawa's stomach twisted at the desperation in Midoriya's voice. "She was just here," he replied tightly, his brows furrowing. "She left Kouta with me and went toward the main battle zone. Why?"
