Jimin gasped, he coughed his lungs out as the bald man threw a bucket of water, to make him conscious again. His eyes swelled, tears streamed through them, rolling down his cheeks, as he momentarily gazed around him.
Eodum along with his men, sat together, the wooden pieces crackling in the fire as the night grew intense. They all held the bottle of liquor, having their dinner, enjoying the meat of the deer they freshly caught.
Jimin widened his eyes, his heart thudded loudly in his chest, as he saw his mother sitting on her knees next to Eodum. Her hands tied behind her back, a piece of cloth stuffed in her mouth, she looked at Jimin, her eyes drenched in tears, her heart ached through the pain, as she saw her loving son wounded and injured.
"She deserves a punishment." Eodum said, he stood up crushing the deer bones with his teeth.
"Leave her alone." Jimin said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Eodum let out another harsh, twisted laugh. "The fun is just beginning... son!" he sneered, standing up slowly. His hands hidden beneath thick layers of clothes, grabbed a metal rod that had been heated in the fire. The rod glowed with intense heat as Eodum held it, his grin widening as he looked down at Roohyang, signaling her about his brutality.
Roohyang muffled, begging to show some mercy. She stood up and blocked Eodum's way, but Eodum smirked, he grabbed her hair and leaned closer to her, "You're the one who brought this for you." He spat, "You should have killed him in your womb when I asked, but you thought you could win against me bloody witch." Eodum cursed, shoving Roohyang back to the ground, he headed closer to Jimin.
Jimin felt the anger washed over him, but he was to weak to react at his mother's humiliation. His heart raced as he watched Eodum holding the burning rod. Fear gripped him, but he tried to stay strong, his eyes wide with shock. His breath quickened, and he struggled to keep his voice steady. "Why you're doing this to us?" he asked, his voice trembling despite his efforts to stay calm.
"Because I hate the fact that my son is a hybrid." Eodum replied, stepped closer to Jimin.
Jimin felt the intense heat from the rod as Eodum brought it closer to his face. The scorching air made his skin prickle, and he couldn't help but flinch, his heart pounding with fear.
Eodum seemed to enjoy the moment, his smile widening as he pressed the sizzling rod just below Jimin's shoulder. A painful scream echoed through the forest, and the veins around Jimin's neck bulged, ready to burst. The searing heat burned his flesh, inflicting unbearable pain. Jimin cried out in agony, but his voice soon faded, his breath caught in his throat.
Eodum pulled the rod, "This is how I feel throughout all these years." He said venomously.
Jimin's breath laboured, the pain became so unbearable and irresistible, that his body trembled.
Suddenly, the gentle breeze grew wild and intense. The flames of the fire flickered wildly as a sharp lightning bolt cracked across the sky. The once calm night transformed into a stormy, thunderous one.
Eodum's men looked around in utter bewilderment, realized something sinister began to happen.
"She's trying to do some magic." One of the witches shouted.
Every glare moved on Roohyang, as she whispered, "Oh dear lord of the nature, please protect my son, give him the strength above all, awaken his powers, and in return take my Life." Roohyang prayed, with each second the ambiance became more and more thunderous.
"Not just any magic, but she's sacrificing herself." Shanaya said.
Jimin felt traumatized, despite that each part of the body ached with bruises and wounds, he protested against the tight grip of the ropes, writhing painfully, as he couldn't imagine to loose his mother, the only being he ever saw in his life, a protective shelter.
"Mother don't do this." Jimin cried, "Please don't do this...please...please mother." His voice trembled as he screamed, but Roohyang paid no attention to him.
"Just shut your mouth you darn hybrid." Eodum growled in a fit of anger, blowing a hard punch on Jimin's face.
Jimin groaned agonizingly, cried his heart out as his mother continued to whispered. The ambiance now became thunderous, making hard for everyone to stood still on their position, large trees dangling with the wild gust of dusty wind, high flames of fire began to touch the sky.
"What you're waiting for fools? Stop her." Eodum commanded to his men, he shifted his attention towards Shanaya, "Stop her now, with your foolish instrument, use your magic." He said in annoyance.
"Nobody can't do anything when a witch sacrifice herself in order to fulfill her wish." Shanaya clarified, her gaze fixed at Jimin.
Despite all the torment and pain Eodum inflicted upon him, his eyes glinted in a shade of purple, cannon teeth etched from his gums, his nails became sharp and pointy, he breathed so fast, that defined his angst, the helplessness that wandered into his face transformed into a fierce expression, as now he insanely struggled to protest against the ropes.
"If you want to protect yourself and your men so I'd suggest you to leave." Shanaya suggested, she looked back at her, "We will leave now." She announced.
"Did you lost your mind? How can we leave without killing that hybrid?" Eodum said, the wild thunder faded his growling voice.
"We can't kill him, nobody can." Shanaya replied in a serene tone, "We were wrong to think that we can stop the prophecy. Protect yourself, run from this place. The entire dead of valley is shaken, because Roohyang prayed for his powers getting awaken." She said.
