Jimin's eyes fluttered as he opened them, his vision clearing as he took in the room around him. He lay on a large, round bed covered in soft red velvet blankets with gold edges.
Above him, a high canopy hung with detailed carving. The air smelled of burning incense, mixing with the scent of old wood and stone. Tall, narrow windows allowing the moonlight streamed through in, casting soft shadows across the room.
The stone walls were decorated with colorful tapestries showing scenes of battles and mythical creatures. Across the room, a large fireplace glowed faintly, its light flickering on silver cups and shining armor on display.
The room seemed entirely different from the one, Jimin spent last few days. In an instant, he recalled the memories of a dream he just had.
It was about Taehyung, the same dream he had before. An old man with his hand concealed with a burned mark poisoning the cup of tea, Taehyung was supposed to take.
But there were some more details, as Taehyung sat on his throne, a clusters of old men lined at his both sides. Jimin had no acknowledgment about the royal faculties, all he knew that Taehyung's life was in danger.Jimin stood up in a rush, realized that he had forgotten to warn Taehyung, the reason why arranged his meeting last time. He pondered over the voices as he approached the door, using his wolf senses in a long while. There were many uncountable voices coming from outside of the chamber, Jimin squeezed his eyes and picked the conversation held between the two maidens.
"It's been days, since that monster laying unconsciously in the chamber."
"I wonder why his majesty brought such a deadliest creature in the castle."
"I heard that he's a son of Roohyang, that witch."
"He must have came to avenge us all."
"Don't Tell anyone, but his own father wanted to kill him."
"Why?"
"Park Eodum also think he's a monster who should never live.He even wanted to kill him in Roohyang's womb."
"Poor woman, she should have chosen her husband, if I was her, I would never give a birth to a deadliest creature, she waisted her life."
Jimin's heart sank as the painful memory of his mother's brutal death washed over him. The image was so vivid, it was as if it had just happened.
The grief, the anger, and the overwhelming guilt threatened to crush him. He remembered how helpless he had felt that night, how terribly he was tortured by his own father, unable to save her, unable to stop the violence that tore her from his life. The weight of humiliation bore down on him, making it hard to breathe, hard to think.
Since losing his mother, Jimin had been haunted by the thought that maybe, just maybe, he should have never been born. He started to believe that his existence had brought nothing but pain and suffering. In his darkest moments, he wondered if her death was somehow his fault. The more Jimin thought about it, the more convinced he became that he was the cause of all the sorrow that surrounded him.
Jimin clutched his fist and opened the door aggressively, the two maidens stood at few metres of distance. They gasped a deep breath as Jimin let himself stepped out, avoiding the maidens, Jimin walked through the narrow hallway, dimly lit with the candle lights.
Jimin turned to the right, the other side of the hallway was surrounded by the guards armed by the large swords. In an blink of an eye, they all pointed their swords towards him as a shield of protection, as if Jimin would kill them right on the moment, fear danced over their faces, their hands trembled.
"Don't worry I'm not going to attack you.!" Jimin said in a firm tone.
"You can't kill anyone since you're surrounded by the thousands of guards and warrior." Riyan spat as he walked towards him, he scoffed tauntingly, "Since you're a half witch so we have our own way of protection." He threatened.
Jimin smirked, he preferred not to pay much attention to Riyan, as he knew the minor position Riyan held. "Where is Taehyung?" He asked subtly.
"Be respectful to his majesty, don't forget that you're a minor hybrid, a monster who should be thrown out." Riyan said.
Jimin sighed in annoyance, he didn't know how long he had been sleeping, and how closed Taehyung was to the danger. With a light roll of his eyes, Jimin approached the grand hall, avoiding all the guards who flashed their swords against him, he chased the fading voice of Taehyung brushing against his ears.
At the other side of the grand hall, there was a courtyard where the royal conference was held. Jimin fixed his sharp gaze upon the two guards that stood around the both sides of the tall wooden door.
Without thinking about the consequences, Jimin dashed himself closer to the door, faster than the gust of wind, he stepped inside the room and frightened everyone in the courtyard.
As soon as Jimin stepped into the the room, he realized that how closed Taehyung was to the danger. Taehyung sat at his throne, as Jimin had seen in his dream, his maiden pouring a cup of tea, and the old men lined at his both sides.
"Don't drink that tea, it's poisoned." Jimin shouted.
