Chapter Thirty-Nine

I lick the envelope and place it in the pile with everyone else's at the end of the table in the dinning hall.

I could feel Xander's eyes on me and when I look towards him, He's standing against the wall, watching me with that soft smile of his.

"She's going to have many questions." He chuckles.

"I know." I sigh as I sit back down next to Sam. Koral glances at me from her spot across from us, Jamie at her side writing away.

"I wasn't sure what to really say." Koral says, chewing on her bottom lip.

"I'm just telling my mom everything." Jamie shrugs, "I'm sure they're expecting a long book of everything I've done."

"My mind just went blank." Koral shrugs, glancing at his paper.

"I feel that." Sam sighs as she folds her paper. "But I just explained the basic stuff. Bonding with the dragons, getting our powers, what we did in training. " She shrugs, "I'll fill her in on the crazy stuff in person. No reason to worry her."

"My mom is getting a crazy letter." Lucky says as he folds his paper too. "I told her everything."

Koral sighs, "I told her about my powers, and training. I just feel like there isn't much here." She nods at her paper and Jamie looks over.

After a quick scan he asks, "No mention of me?"

Her eyes round as her cheeks go pink, "I- um." She grabs her pencil and begins to write.

Jamie chuckles, folding his paper and standing up. "I think I'm good with this."

"Did you mention me?" Koral asks.

He kisses her head, "Of course."

Sam waste no time, as soon as Jamie walks away with his paper she leans across the table to ask, "Are you two together?"

"Yes." Koral answers quickly never lifting her eyes from the paper.

"And you didn't put him in your letter!"

"Shh!" Koral glances towards Jamie who was now slipping his letter into an envelope.

"I get it." Sam chuckles, "I debated on telling my mom too."

"What?" Lucky's head snaps towards her.

"My mom would probably try to kill you." She stands, patting his shoulder.

"No, she would love me." Lucky argues as he stands as well.  "Everyone loves me."

"Well, we'll see." She holds the paper up at him, "Because I ended up explaining everything about you."

Lucky smiles, his eyes twinkling, "I told my mom everything too."

It wasn't long before Koral was set with what she had and added her letter to the pile as well.

"Alright." Xander says, stepping to the end of the table to get everyone's attention. "You will be with your same squads as before. We will be starting to work with daggers and swords. The squads will be switching each day between the training room and flying. Today my squad will be in the training room along with Matt's squad. Any questions?"

"Wooden swords?" I ask as Xander hands me a sword that looks like a toy.

He nods, smirking as he moves down the line of us, "Yes. Did you think you guys will just be given blades with no training."

"I don't think we're going to kill each other." I comment, holding the hilt.
