Chapter 29. El Ray and the Mad Queen

Before takeoff, Isaac told everyone everything. About the Death Orb, Succoria, the Hell Lord, his heat vision powers, everything. He even used his heat vision to blast a nearby cup. Everyone was speechless and shocked. They couldn't believe it. Except Felicia, because she's ever so loyal to Isaac.

Clover: Damn... This is wild. It feels like I'm in a horror movie.

Pam: That's one word for it. So, because Succoria likes you the most, she'll keep bringing you back to life when you die?

Isaac: Yep. She's like a demon over my shoulder. I could've killed her right on the spot. I wanted to. But I won't let her have her way.

Tanisha: Good. Fuck that demon. So, what other powers do you have besides heat vision? And are you sure it's a good idea to keep Dana alive?

Isaac: As far as I can tell, it's just heat vision. And yes, we need her alive for interrogation. If she tries to use her powers, she'll learn very quickly that I have powers myself.

Pam: Good. Come on, Kevin, let's get the flying.

Everyone strapped themselves to their seats. Isaac had to strap in Dana since she's still out cold. Kevin and Pam took the pilot seats and started warming up the warp drive for warp speed. Ten seconds later, the shuttle was traveling at warp speed to return to Earth. But Kevin grabbed Pam's hand as a gesture of an apology, which made her blush.

Kevin: I can't tell you how much I am sorry for sending you away like that. I know it was wrong, but I was only trying to protect you.

Pam: Next time don't ever act like a hero or I'll break your nose. But.... thank you. For coming back to me.

Kevin: You're very welcome. And, if you don't mind me asking, why do you have a crush on me? I mean, I'm not a soldier, I'm just engineer nerd.

Pam: Nerds don't operate and hack military machinery like you do. Nerds don't pilot a military shuttle or charge into danger as brave as you. You're not a nerd, Kevin. You're a man.

Kevin: Gosh, I don't know what to say. Some men usually daydream about having a having a military girlfriend.

Pam: Do I look like a dream to you?

These two were about to kiss again. But suddenly the alarms on the shuttle went off, right after the ship ended warp speed. They've reached Earth, but it felt like the shuttle was just drifting. Pam and Kevin checked the monitors right away.

Clover: Why are the alarms going off?! Is this normal?!

Pam: The warp drive burned out the engines, we've got no power! Without power, we're gonna crash!

Kevin: The oxygen canisters are unsealed! I need them resealed to restart power to the engines!

Clover: I'll do it, let me!

Tanisha: No, stay strapped in, I'll do it!

After unbuckling herself, Tanisha ran to the back of the shuttle as fast as she could. She saw the oxygen canisters not sealed after all. She used all her strength to turn the handles and reseal the canisters.

Upon doing so, the alarms went off after power was restored. Now they're approaching the Earth's atmosphere, which caused the shuttle burn up all around. The whole shuttle was shaking, and it felt like it was breaking apart.

Kevin: What's burning?!

Pam: Us!

Kevin: Shit!! You're right!!

Riding through the burning atmosphere was dangerous, and everyone was scared that they might blow up. But they safely made it through. They've returned to Earth in one piece. Pam and Kevin landed the shuttle near a wrecked parking lot.
