Shivani's pov:
I glanced over at Abhi, who was pouting from his spot on the sofa across the room. That was his bed for tonight, and he didn't look too happy about it.
"Shivani, are we seriously doing this?" he whined, making a dramatic face.
I couldn't help but giggle softly. "Ji, bilkul," I teased back.
He huffed, crossing his arms and giving me a smug smirk. "This is enough now. You really think you can sleep without me? Can you?"
His confidence caught me off guard, and I felt a lump form in my throat. "Of course I can," I replied, trying to sound just as confident. I lay down on my bed, pulling the blanket over myself as I muttered under my breath, "What does he mean I can't sleep without him? It's not like he's been there my whole life."
Abhi chuckled softly, clearly amused. "Oh really? Fine then. Let's see who comes to whom first," he challenged, settling onto the sofa with his back turned toward me.
A minute passed, and the room grew quiet. I couldn't hear him moving or making any noise, so I stole a quick glance in his direction. He was lying there, facing away from me, seemingly comfortable.
I sighed, clutching the blanket tighter, suddenly feeling the weight of the silence between us.
"I'm not losing this," I mumbled to myself, staring up at the ceiling. Today had been full of challenges. First, dealing with the glass room, then pretending to be angry at my husband who was being extra cute today. After that, I visited Anvi's place, helped her select some jewelries for her and find out that Rudra is her father's business partner, would definitely be attending the wedding. And now, here I was, trying to sleep without my husband by my side. I sighed heavily.
"who told you to pretend to be angry at your husband" my subconscious mocked me. "Just shut up" I replied in my head.
On top of all that, I still had to tell everything to my parents and in-laws. They were arriving tomorrow, and the thought of it made my chest tighten. "God, please give me the strength I need," I prayed softly before closing my eyes. I wasn't sure how my husband would feel knowing I fell asleep almost instantly, but I will balm it to my tiredness -I was completely exhausted, both mentally and physically.
The next morning, we all gathered in the hall. My parents and in-laws were there, along with Rakshit and Ritika. The air felt thick with anticipation as I prepared myself for the conversations ahead.
