Shivani's POV:

In no time, we reached the hall where the engagement would take place. The place was decorated beautifully with lights and flowers enhancing the beauty of the place. To be honest, I was nervous; crowded places were something I avoided these four years.

As we walked in, Abhi held my hand in a firm grip, sensing my nervousness and fear. The place was packed, and I hated being touched. Just as I was about to collide with someone, I felt Abhi's hand wrap around my shoulders, guiding me gently through the crowd.

As we reached the main hall, I called Anvi to inform her we were here, and in no time, a staff member guided us to the room where she was waiting, in a pastel color beautiful lehnga all ready for the engagement.

"Di, finally you are here," she said with a sigh of relief, happiness clearly shining in her eyes. Her eyes than moved to Abhi "Hayeee, jiju, kisi ki nazar na lage. You both look stunning together," she said, circling her hand around us and then pressing it on her temples. I looked at Abhi and smiled in response.

"Come, let me introduce you two to my family," she said, guiding us to another room. Inside, a lady in her fifties was sitting on a chair, she looked confused when we approached her but then her face lit up as soon as she saw me. She got up and walked towards us, so now we were standing face to face.

"Namaste Aunty" we greeted her softly, but she didn't respond. Feeling nervous I reached for Abhi's hand and held it tight, soon I felt his arm wrap around my waist, calming me down. None of us spoke for a moment; Aunty kept staring at me with tears in her eyes.

"You look exactly like Maya," she broke the silence and came to cup my cheeks. I tried my best not to step back when her hand cupped my face. "Maa, this is..." Anvi began, but her mom cut her off.

Shivani, I know," she completed with a warm smile, making me smile too. Her eyes turned to Abhimanyu. "And you must be Abhimanyu, right?"

Abhi nodded with a smile. "Thank you so much, both of you, for becoming a part of Anvi's marriage," Aunty said.

"We are honored, Aunty," I said with a smile.

"Areeee, what are you guys doing? Let's go; the groom will be here in no time," we were interrupted by a man who also seemed to be in his late fifties. His eyes landed on me, and he stopped mid-sentence. "You really look like Maya," he said, his voice filled with astonishment and a hint of nostalgia.

For a moment, his eyes softened, filled with memories of a past I wasn't a part of but seemed to be hauntingly connected to. He approached slowly, his gaze never leaving my face. "It's like seeing a ghost," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.
