Shivani's pov:

"I think we should sleep. Anyway, we have to get up early tomorrow," Abhi said when he saw me yawning.

"Shall we?" he asked, extending his hand toward me. I nodded, and he gently pulled me up.

We descended the stairs with Abhi following close behind. As we walked towards my room, I couldn't help but think about our separate sleeping arrangements. Yes, we are still in separate rooms, and I am to be blamed for that.

He thinks I'm not comfortable yet, and I feel too awkward to tell him I'm ready to move in with him.

I glanced at Abhi, who was now beside me, engrossed in his phone. When he felt my gaze, he looked up and our eyes met briefly before I quickly looked away.

This silent exchange continued until we reached my room. I walked in while he leaned against the door frame, waiting for me to get into bed.

I glanced once again at abhi before sitting on the bed, my lips pursued. I didn't want him to go, but I also didn't know how to stop him.

"Kuch kehna hai?" Abhi asked, startling me.

"Ye...yes" I said stuttered "Ok it's not that difficult shivi you just have to say you want to hear his heartbeat, he will understand" I explained to myself.

I looked at Abhi, who was patiently waiting for me to speak up. I repeated the words in my head that I intended to say to him.

"What is it?" Abhi asked with a raised eyebrow, and despite all the practice, I said something stupid.
"Um, could you... um... tell me a bedtime story?" I blurted out, cringing internally.

Abhi's expression shifted from curiosity to mild confusion, but he didn't laugh or mock me. Instead, he gave a small, understanding smile. "A bedtime story?," he asked gently.

I sighed, feeling the frustration build up. This wasn't what I wanted to say at all. "No, Abhi, that's not it," I whispered, my voice barely audible.

"Um, no it's ok you should go and sleep now," I said quickly and covered myself with the quilt. Abhi looked at me for a while then turn to leave.

I sighed in frustration, watching him walk away. But then something inside me snapped. "Wait!" I called out, my voice sharper than I intended.

Abhi turned back, surprised. "What is it now?" he asked, confused." Why are you going?" I demanded, feeling the irritation rise. "You don't have to listen to everything I say!" He looked genuinely perplexed.
