Long chapter because I was late to update consider this as my apology.
Shivani's POV:
"Think about it, love. Maybe Shivani Sharma doesn't want justice, but Shivani Dikshit does. Maybe my wife doesn't want to fight, but the mother of my future children does. Shivani-maybe the lover in you is scared, but the woman in you has always wanted this." Abhi said as he opened the car door for me. I slid into the seat, quiet and thoughtful, his words echoing in my head.
He lingered by the door for a few moments, watching me closely before closing it and making his way to the driver's seat. Once he settled in, he fastened his seatbelt, but I was too lost in my thoughts to acknowledge him.
I stared straight ahead, a deep frown creasing my forehead, avoiding his gaze entirely. My mind felt chaotic, tangled up in uncertainty. I could sense him reaching for my hand, which I had resting on my lap, but I pulled it away angrily, turning to face the window. His soft sigh filled the silence before he started the car.
The words he spoke before getting into the car kept replaying in my mind. I closed my eyes tightly, overwhelmed. "What do I actually want?" I asked myself. "Am I really ready for this? Can I face him?" I knew the answer wasn't simple, and yet I couldn't ignore the fact that only a few hours ago, I had faced one of my deepest fears......
FLASHBACK (few hours ago)
As I looked around, I realized I had no idea where I was or how I got here. "I was with Abhi right?" The lack of any sound or movement only heightened my anxiety. My heart pounded in my chest, and a wave of panic swept over me.
The silence was deafening, amplifying my fear and confusion. My chest began to feel tight, as if a heavy weight was pressing down on me. Breathing became a struggle, each inhalation feeling laboured and difficult. My vision grew increasingly blurry, the edges of my sight turning indistinct.
The darkness seemed to press closer, almost as if it were a living entity encroaching upon me.I felt utterly trapped and overwhelmed. The fear was intense and all-consuming, leaving me with no clear way to escape the terrifying, unending void around me.
Then I heard it-a sound that made my throat go dry. Footsteps. Someone was here with me. I gripped the bedsheets beneath me, my fists tightening as fear slowly crept in, wrapping around me like a cold blanket.
My breaths grew shallow, each one coming quicker than the last until I was panting, unable to control the rising panic. "Abhi," I whispered, too softly for anyone to hear, my voice trembling with desperation. To my shock, a reply came almost instantly.
"I'm here, moon. There's no need to fear the darkness."
It was his voice. Calm, steady, and so close, as if he were right beside me, even though I couldn't see him. "Ab...hi," I sobbed, his name breaking through my lips in a desperate call.
