Shivani's pov:

"I hope everyone had a good rest," Anvi's dad said, looking around the breakfast table. We were seated outside on the resort lawn, surrounded by soft morning light and fresh grass. I hadn't fully explored the place yet, but from what I'd seen, it was huge and beautiful, with a big swimming pool and sprawling gardens.

The November air was chilly yet pleasant. I avoided Uncle's question, keeping my eyes down. I and Rest? Not really. After catching a glimpse of my nightmare, it was impossible to feel at ease. No nightmares last night, though, only because I didn't sleep. I spent the night tossing and turning, grateful I hadn't disturbed Abhi-he needed the rest.

"Yeh lo, Abhi aur Rakshit bhi aa gaye," my mother said as the two of them walked over. We'd all been here except for them since they went on an early morning jog. Abhi slipped into the chair beside me, while Rakshit sat next to my mother-in-law.

Abhi leaned in slightly. "Why do you look so pale? Is everything okay?"

I forced a smile. "Yeah, just tired from all the traveling."

He didn't seem convinced and was about to say more when Anvi's dad called him over to talk about work. I exhaled in relief, but my eyes immediately found Shelly, who was giving me an odd look. She held my gaze until I met her eyes, then quickly looked away-not before rolling her eyes at me.

Seriously? If you don't like me, then stop staring. I scowled.

"Di, stop plotting her murder in your head," Ritika whispered, nudging me from the left.

I turned to her. "What? I wasn't doing anything!"

She raised an eyebrow. "Uh-huh, sure. You're being super obvious."

Before I could respond, my father-in-law spoke up. "On a serious note, when your bus was delayed, all of us were so worried!"

"Yes, we were all so anxious," Anvi's mom added, her eyes wide.

"Don't worry, Aunty, we were perfectly fine. Just a little delay, but we made the best of it and explored a dhaba nearby," Rakshit said with a grin.

"Yeah, Mom, I was there! So there was nothing to worry about," Anvi added, suddenly putting on a mature tone.

Rakshit and Vivek exchanged a look and coughed, trying not to laugh.

"Wasn't she the one who freaked out the most?" Rakshit mumbled under his breath, earning a sharp elbow from Akansha, who was sitting between him and Shelly.

I noticed Shelly watching Abhi again. Ever since our journey started, she'd been trying to talk to him, but he'd been avoiding her completely. A satisfied smile formed on my lips. When her eyes flicked to me, I lifted my hand and wiggled my nails at her with a smug look. I saw her gulp and quickly look away.
