"Are you really his husband?"

Phayu stopped in his tracks but didn't turn around, he took a deep breath, "It doesn't matter if I'm his husband or not as it won't change the fact that he's mine. You should focus on your fiance instead of someone who belongs to me."

Without another word, Phayu walked away, leaving a stunned Rueng behind. Ash quickly followed phayu, worried for rain.

Rueng watched Phayu's figure disappear, his fists clenching tightly. Memories of their last encounter when they met,on his engagement day rushed back to his mind. Where Phayu had the same arrogant attitude, the same commanding presence, the same words Rain in mine. Even back then, Rueng had been unable to respond, just as he was now. No matter how much he wanted to answer Phayu back, his commanding presence and intimidating personality seemed to silence everyone around him, including rueng.

"Who does he think he is, talking to you like that?" Mai hissed, gripping Rueng's arm. Though she was also impressed by Phayu's powerful personality, the sight of Rain being protected by such a strong man made jealousy burn inside her. She had worked hard, using every trick in the book to pull Rueng away from Rain. But now Rain had someone even more powerful by his side, first Winnie, and now Phayu.

"Why didn't you say anything to him? How could you just stand there when he was insulting you and that Rai-"

"Enough!" Rueng interrupted, his voice sharp. He glared at Mai, disappointment clear in his eyes. She had never spoken like this before, never shown such bitterness toward Rain. Today, it felt like he was looking at someone he didn't recognize.

"I'm going home," Rueng said coldly. "If you want to come, follow me. If not, stay here." Without waiting for her response, he began walking away.

"Rueng! Where are you going?" Mai called after him, frustration boiling over. She hurried to follow, blaming Rain for everything that had gone wrong.

Phayu walked quickly towards his car, Rain's limp body cradled in his arms. As Phayu glanced down at Rain, he could vaguely see how weak and fragile he looked, his face pale, flushed with fever. The small wound on his cheek and the cut near the corner of his lips felt like needles piercing Phayu's heart.

"Yim, drop Rain's friends home safely," Phayu ordered his secretary, who was hurrying behind him.

"Yes, sir," Yim responded.

"Will he be alright?" Ash asked, her voice breaking as she sobbed more.

Phayu paused near his car, a bodyguard quickly opened the door for him. "He will be fine. Don't worry. Go home, take rest, i will take care of him," Phayu said calmly reassuring her before sliding into the car.

Once seated, he gently settled Rain onto his lap, noticing how Rain was clutching onto his suit as if seeking comfort. Letting him sit in the seat was out of the question.

Phayu's eyes darkened as he looked out of the window.

"Find out exactly what happened here. I want every fucking single person responsible for this," Phayu commanded one of the bodyguards, his grip on Rain tightening protectively. Anger simmered beneath his calm exterior ready to explode any moment, with guilt of not coming on time. "If only he had come sooner and wouldn't have ignored for days in guilt of saying such harsh words, rain wouldn't be in this condition. Now it only added one more thing, making him feel more guilty and heavy in his chest".

Flashback :

"How much time do we have before the next meeting?" Phayu asked as he walked out of the meeting room after attending one.
