Phayu helped Rain stand back on his feet, Rain could feel Phayu's hand snaking around his waist, making him shiver at the sudden touch. Rain had never imagined Phayu would be here, especially since Rain hadn’t even told him he was coming. He thought their wedding was just a contract and didn't want to bother Phayu with his personal matters. When Rain looked in Phayu's direction, their eyes met, Phayu was already watching him. Then, Phayu glanced at rain's family's direction with contempt and disdain.
Rain's stepmother stared at Phayu , "Who are you?" She asked. Phayu glanced at her before turning back to Rain and asked disdainfully, "Is she your stepmother?" He completely ignored Rain's stepmother as if she didn't exist.
Rain nodded, confirming, "Yes." Mr. Tangwai just stood there, silently watching Phayu as if he was trying to remember something.
Rain's stepmother, now angry, pointed a finger at Phayu and said sharply, "Oh, now I get it; you're his boyfriend. But who gave you permission to be here?" Phayu tightened his hand on Rain's waist, looking fiercely at Mrs.. Tangwai. "I don't think you're in a position to ask me that question, as this clearly isn't your function," Phayu retorted, insulting Mrs. Tangwai.
"You! How dare you talk to me like that? Do you even know who I am?" Mrs. Tangwai fumed, but Phayu didn't care.
Rain watched as his stepmother's expression changed. He was sure she didn't know who Phayu was, otherwise, she wouldn't dare speak to him like that. Of course, how could she know? Phayu was a private person who didn't like to be in the public eye. Though his name was well-known among businessmen, only a few had the chance to meet him in person, and there was very little personal information available about him.
Mrs. Tangwai looked at Phayu, his aura exuded wealth. She then looked at Rain with envy, wondering how Rain ended up with someone like him. "What do you think of yourself, ignoring me like that? Who are you? And don't forget, we are rain's parents. If you want to date or marry Rain, you'll need our permission, which we haven't given and won't give you anyway."
Phayu stared at her, "I don't need anyone's permission to be with someone, especially someone like you," Looking disgustingly at her.
"Don't you think you're being too arrogant and rude?" Mrs. Tangwai scoffed, "Of course, what can I expect from Rain's boyfriend? You're both the same. But before you take Rain anywhere, don't forget he's a Tangwai family child. So, you'll have to pay for everything we've spent on him till now and..."
"How much do you want?" Phayu interrupted again. Mrs. Tangwai's mouth dropped open in shock. Was he serious? "Ten... ten million," she stammered.
"Is that all? You're very cheap, just ten million? He looked at her from top to bottom before continuing "That might be your worth, but my boyfriend is priceless, so don't you even dare to price him "
Rain almost burst out laughing at how Phayu was handling his stepmother.
Mr. Tangwai, who had been silent all this time, exploded in anger, "How dare you call my wife cheap and insult her like that?" He then turned to Rain, "Is this why you brought your so-called boyfriend here, just to insult us? Is this how you repay me for everything I've done for you all these years?"
"What 'things' are you talking about, Dad? You've never done anything for me. You've never even treated me as your son. You've always ignored me for your wife and daughter, so don't expect anything good from me. In fact, I now believe you're not even my real dad," Rain shouted back in anger.
Mr. Tangwai's anger flared, and he moved forward to hit Rain. "You brat—" But before he could do anything, bodyguards appeared from different directions, standing between them. Phayu instinctively cupped Rain's face with his one hand, pulled him close, burying rain's face in his chest, shielding him, as Mr. Tangwai almost struck him. Rain startled at the sudden act, clutched Phayu's suit in his small fists.
