Rain was screaming at Phayu, shaking his body continuously when, suddenly, a loud crash of a bottle shattering into pieces, silenced him. Then, another loud sound of a...gunshot rang sharply in his ears, making him freeze in shock.
It didn't end there. More bullets flew through the air, hitting and smashing everything around them.
Rain didn't even know what just happened. It was too sudden...too fast. He opened his eyes when phayu's voice fell into his ears, but it felt distant and muffled, like he was in a haze. Then only he realized they were now behind the bar counter. His body was pressed tightly against Phayu's, one of Phayu's arms wrapped protectively around his waist, while with the other he was holding a gun...a freaking gun.
Rain's body went cold looking at the gun in Phayu's hand, and the continuous sound of gunfire made Rain's heart race with panic and his body flinch uncontrollably.
"Shh... It's okay...Stay down..Don't move," Phayu said in his soft voice to calm Rain, he could clearly see rain was freaking out.
"What is happening here?" Rain asked, looking at Phayu's serious expression. His question was cut short when Phayu suddenly pulled him closer to his chest and fired a bullet, that hit straight into a man's head. Rain flinched, freezing in his spot.
Did he just witness a murder? A live murder?
"Rain! Rain, are you with me?" Phayu asked, gently patting Rain's cheek when he noticed him freeze.
"Yes… yes I am..." Rain stammered trying to pull himself together.
"Listen to me carefully, We are going to get out of here, safe and secure. Don't panic. Just follow me and do exactly as I say, okay?"
Rain quickly nodded, unable to think of anything else to do.
Phayu crouched low, holding tightly to Rain's hand as he started to move carefully. His eyes scanning the room and his senses on high alert. Whenever someone tried to get close, Phayu shot them without hesitation, keeping Rain close, looking for a way to get out, just then he spotted the best way to get out.
"You see that table in the corner? We need to get there without anyone noticing us. After that, we will go through that gate, okay?" Phayu said to Rain. Even though everything went silent now, but Phayu knew it wasn't over. Whoever those people were, they were just waiting for the right moment to attack.
Phayu crouched down again, ready to move, but suddenly someone appeared in front of him. He was about to pull the trigger when he realized it was Yim. He immediately stopped.
"Sir, we need to leave right now," Yim said urgently.
"What's the situation? Do you know who is attacking us?' Phayu asked.
"Not yet, sir, but they have more people than us. It looks like they came with planning and were fully prepared for this attack. Some of our guards have been killed. We can't stay here any longer because we don't know how many more are out there and what's their plan," Yim explained.
For Phayu, this wasn't new. It wasn't the first time he was facing a situation like this. If he wanted, he could go out right now and take down every single one of them. But he can't do that now as Rain was with him. He couldn't leave Rain alone here, and he couldn't trust anyone else to protect him. That's why Phayu had to hold himself back and focus on getting them out safely without any harm.
"Okay, then we will go through that gate," Phayu instructed Yim as well. "Cover us and make sure Rain gets out safely. He is our first priority."
Yim nodded and quickly instructed two other bodyguards to cover them. Phayu grabbed Rain's hand tightly.
