Brook
It's the night of the concert. My nerves are at all time high. Worse than the concert that was in that random field this summer. Then- I didn't know anyone. Now? Everyone knows me. Everyone.
I peek out the curtains just too look. It's an hour before show time and I still haven't even gotten ready yet.
"Brook go get ready!" Jason yells behind me, making me literally jump out of my skin. "Shit I didn't mean to scare you that much." He pulls me into a hug. "You okay? Nervous?"
I pull back, "Yes. So nervous I could puke."
He laughs, "Please don't do that. It'd be funny though." He nudges me towards the make shift dressing rooms. "Go get ready."
I look at him and see his blond hair slicked back, his white button up shirt and black slacks on. He looks like a typical heart throb from any movies. His gold watch shimmers in the little light there is here. He pushes me towards the room then closes the door behind me once I get in. Then I hear him yell something outside the door- then Celine and Addison walk in. Arms filled with makeup brushes, hair brush and a curling iron. They both smile at me like they are about to beat my face with so much makeup.
The entire time. We laugh. And it helps settle my nerves some. All of our dresses are in here. We help each other with makeup but Addison insists on doing both Celine and Mine's hair. We are sitting in what I'd call director chairs and since we are all super close with each other. In bra's and sweats.
"So what's your plans for Thanksgiving?" Celine asks as she pulls a Twizzler apart. Her red fingers matching the licorice.
"Oh! My family is coming in town and my grandma is cooking all of the food. I'm so excited." Addison exclaims. "She makes the best apple pie."
"You better save me a slice then." Celine says.
"Me too!" I whine. "Pie is the best! I think we are staying home. My mom will probably cook something, and I'll probably spend time with Max." I look to Celine. "You?"
"My mom's cooking and then we plan on putting the tree up that night." She says and it sounds like a fun night. "That's so sweet of you though. Even after Billy- you and Max are still close."
Then there's a knock on the door that startles all of us. "Hey is Brook in there?" someone asks. "I got a delivery?"
"Delivery?" I question.
Celine gets up, slides a robe on and then slightly opens the door. She comes back in with a bouquet of sunflowers in a vase. "Looks like someone got flowers delivered." She hands the vase to me, careful since Addison is curling a piece right by my ear.
Who the hell is sending flowers? And Sunflowers!
"Whose it from?" They both ask. Addison puts down the iron and Celine grabs the card in it. I already know who it's from.
Celine opens the card then reads it aloud. "Good Luck tonight!" Celine looks at me. "Who the hell sent it? There's no name on it."
I shrug my shoulders. "No clue."
