Y/n's Pov

I woke up in a sweat, as it had been really hot overnight. I had tried wearing less, going for shorts and a tank top for pajamas. It didn't work. At all. I was still hot, and my shower was being fixed today by a plumber, so I couldn't use it until tonight. I groaned and shoved the covers off, getting out of bed and playing some Taylor Swift songs on my phone to calm me down a bit. I was already agitated because my stupid neighbor, Sabrina, told me she didn't like the color my door was painted. Ugh, she was such a Karen, it was awful. Every day there would be something wrong with me, this or that. "My door was the wrong color!" "My music was too loud!" She was absolutely the worst.

She lived right next door, and the walls in this apartment complex were paper thin, so it wasn't my fault she could hear my music. And yeah, my door wasn't a great color, but I didn't have the energy or time to change it. Most of the things she said were stupid, and really there was no reason on critiquing me for these things. Like, okay? So what, my door doesn't look immaculate? Maybe she's the problem, I mean if you don't like Olivia Rodrigo, then you have an issue.

I walked out of my room and into the kitchen, grabbing an apple. I skip the song I'm on, not wanting to feel happy right now. "Scared of my Guitar" and I blasted it. I heard a knock at my door, and groaned. "Ugh, I'm turning it down! Cool your jets..." I turned it down a notch and kept munching and dancing around the kitchen. The knocks came again, this time more like bangs.

"God, I'm coming!" I yelled, rolling my eyes as I paused the music and walked over to the door. I opened it to reveal a 5 foot tall blonde, standing there with an annoyed expression on her face. "Um, some of us are trying to sleep! Shut your stupid music off!" I gasp and place a hand over my heart in mock shock. "Whoa, we do not insult my music taste here. And it's a perfectly normal time to be awake! You should've been ready for the day by now, honestly." She rolls her eyes and groans, throwing her head back. "Will you please just shut it off? I had a late night and I need sleep."

Ugh, she could be so annoying sometimes. No, most of the time. But, I did know that the walls were super thin, and she did work pretty late, so maybe I could be nice, just this once. "Alright, fine. I'll turn it off, sorry." She looks a bit surprised for a second and then she nods, stepping back. "Thank you... bye neighbor." I wave and shut the door, deciding to just quietly watch Tv instead.

That night, I lay down in bed to sleep, and basically the second I get comfortable I hear a guitar strumming coming from Sabrina's apartment. I groan, knowing that this is gonna make it hard to sleep. I slip out of bed and walk out to her door and knock. The strumming stops and she opens the door. "Hey, would you mind turning it down? Some of us are trying to sleep here." She smirks and looks up at me. "Oh? Those words sound pretty familiar to me..." I groan and look down. "Look, I'm sorry, okay? I won't play music super loud in the mornings." Her smile falters and she sighs. "Sure... I'll just do it in the morning." I squeeze my eyes shut, grateful. "Thank you, Sabrina. It means a lot." She nods and looks down, her face taking on an amused expression.

I realize I've been standing here in nothing but a tank top and underwear. "Uh... bye! Goodnight!" I say, running back to my apartment and basically jumping inside.

About a week later, everything's been going great. We haven't been fighting at all, just the occasional hello as we're taking out the trash, or in the parking lot. That was, until I was woken up by soft guitar strums, although this time they were in a melody. it sounded nice, and I just lay there and listened for a bit. Who knew Sabrina could play guitar, and well? I slip on some shorts and a t-shirt, stepping out of bed as she stops. it was nice, but it interrupted my sleep schedule, again, and this was annoying me now.

I walk outside, shutting my door behind me. I painted it a few days ago, for her. It now matched hers, and was a grey/blue color. It was much prettier, I'll admit. I knock and she answers almost immediately. "Morning Sabrina... I thought we agreed no music in mornings or nights." She winces, maybe she forgot? "Sorry, I've been trying to play this song... I'll stop. Have a good day." I nod, and thank her saying goodbye too.

She starts shutting the door and I turn around, getting a fright. I see my ex, Emily, walking towards me. She hasn't seen me yet, which is a good sign. I quickly step into Sabrina's apartment and shut the door behind me. She looks at me with disbelief. "Um, excuse me? You can't just come into my apartment without permission." I look at her, a bit scared. "Sorry, but my ex is out there. She's really scary, and I thought she moved on. Guess not though."

Me and Emily had broken up because she thought I didn't give her enough attention, although I did. I left her, and she is always trying to contact me, get me back. How did she get my new address? This was extremely creepy and stalker like.

I look back at Sabrina, who's looking at me with an expression that says 'Really?' I grimaced and hold my hands up like I'm praying. "Look, I know it sounds stupid, but could you please, please, please, pretend to be my girlfriend? Maybe then she'll leave me alone. Please?" She scoffs, but her features soften when she sees my pleading expression. "...Alright, fine. But just once, I'm never doing this again." I nod, extremely grateful. Although, I get confused as she moves her hands up to my hair and starts to mess it up.

Next, she moves my t-shirt around, making it look messy and moving it over my shoulder a bit. "Uh, Sabrina? What are you doing there?" I ask, referring to the odd stuff she's doing. "Making it look like you were just in bed with me." he says, a bit too nonchalantly. I blush and she brings her thumb up to her lips, smudging her lip gloss. I groan as she mushes it all over my lips, although I let it happen. She looks me over, admiring her work. "You look exactly as I had planned." She said. smiling. I chuckle, but my laughter fades as I hear a loud thumping at the door. "Y/n, is that you? Come out, I know you're in there!" My eyes go wide and Sabrina runs over to the bedroom. "Take your shorts off, I'll be back soon!" She says, although now I'm panicking, What? My shorts... I mean, they've both seen me in my underwear so... I toss my shorts to a random corner and open the door, hoping Sabrina comes back soon.

I open it to find Emily, who looks me up and down, her eyes squinting. "Well hello, finally. What were you just doing?" I open my mouth to answer but I'm interrupted by Sabrina's voice, floating from the bedroom into the living room. "Y/n, baby, who is that? Come back to bed..." I blush a bit as she steps out in a robe, looking as though there's nothing under it. Her hair and lip gloss is messed up too, like mine. Emily glares at her as Sabrina smiles warmly. "You must be the famous Emma! I'm Sabrina." Emily twitches, and I hold back a laugh. Damn, she's a great actor.

"It's Emily, actually. I came here to talk to Y/n." Sabrina nods and comes up behind me, giving my ass a little squeeze, trying to sell the act. I have no idea why I liked that. "Y/n, please. You know I still love you, how could I not? Please, come back!" I wince at her pleading tone, knowing that nothing will change. "C'mon, you really can do better than her, I mean, look at her. She's like a fucking hobbit." My eyes widen at her words, and Sabrina's hand curls into a fist. I interlock our fingers to stop her from doing anything she'll regret.

"Look, Emily, I'm with Sabrina now. You can't just show up here and say you want me back, because I don't want that, at all. Now, what you said about my girlfriend? Not true. She is beautiful, and I don't care what you say because that will always be true to me. She can play the guitar, amazingly, She always reminds me to get my mail, and she helps me with my terrible home decor. She's a better neighbor and girlfriend then you ever were, or will be. Now, you need to leave, and don't come back or I'll call security on you. Goodbye." I said, slamming the door in her face. Sabrina looks up at me, a bit shocked.

"What?" I ask, bewildered.

"You really mean all that? What you said about me?" She asks, blushing.

I look to the side, scratching the back of my neck. "Uh.... well, yeah, I guess I did."

She grins and looks down, making me blush now.

"Well then..." She says, making me look at her again. She quickly pulls me closer and kisses me, sparking something. I smile into it, although unexpected but nice. Her lips taste like strawberries, and I love it. She pulls away for a second and looks back at me.

"I'll be a great neighbor-girlfriend, I swear."
