The Winning Side

❝What can I say? I'm dramatic.❞

AFTER A USELESS battle with the Dragon of the East, you continued with your journey to find Wukong and Mk to bring them to the Lady Bone Demon in order to free yourself.

After a bit searching, you managed to find them. Right now, you sat your eyes on Mk. You had to bring him first as he would be easy to manipulate and fool. So, what did you do? You cloned their van to drag them into your trap and it actually worked. Mk was trying to regain his powers after LBD took them and the staff from him. When it was time to leave, he, Mei, and Sandy got into the fake van the was heading east.

You remained hidden in the shadows, listening to their conversation as they were wondering why the van was heading the opposite way. Only for them to discover that their friends Wukong, Pigsy, and Tang weren't in the vehicle.

"Sandy? Did you build this van to drive itself?" Mk asked upon noticing the van driving on its own.

"Oh, I wish."

"So that's a no. Should we probably stop it?" Mei suggested.

"All right."

Before Sandy got to drive the car, you made your move and turned off the lights. Both Mei and Mk jumped on Sandy and held into him tightly, "The lights. They're all on off. On. Off." Mk exclaimed with fright, not noticing you standing behind them.

"Nothing creepy about this at all." As she said that, you appeared behind Mei and laughed which made her scared, "Did you guys hear that?"

Suddenly, there was a sound of a cat which made Sandy run into your shadows, "Sandy, wait." Mk called out, but it was too late.

"Mk!" Mei yelled before she also disappeared.

"Mei!"

You then made an appearance and rose from Mk's shadow, "Looks like it's just you and me now." You spoke up before letting out another laugh. Mk's eyes widened with shock upon seeing you, "Y/N, How did you --" You didn't give him a chance when you went right past him.

"Did you really think you were going to get away from me, bud?"

The boy tried to punch you, but he ended up punching the wall, "Aw, forget you lost your powers? Careful. You might hurt yourself!" You emerged from the wall through a shadow portal, making your shadows tie Mk up to a car seat.

"What do you --"

"Want? What are you doing? Come on, kiddo. Do I have to explain everything? I'm handing you over to the Lady Bone Demon."

You stood before him, your eyes flashing purple. Mk continued to struggle, trying his best to free himself from his restrains, "Come on, fight back. Maybe I'm not giving you the right motivation. Should I bring your big, blue friend in here and smack him around? How about the girl?" You taunted him, showing him shadowy figures of his friends. Mk growled in frustration, his eyes glowing gold. However, you were unfazed and just laughed at him, "Gold Vision? Really? Enough with these baby powers." You stated in mockery.

With a loud battle cry, Mk managed to break free, "Stop talking!" He exclaimed before dashing at you, fists colliding. You smirked evilly, "That's more like it." You encouraged him to fight more.

"Why are you helping her? Lady Bone Demon. Like, look, I get you're a bad person. But you know she wants to destroy everything, right?"

As much as you wanted to deny this, you knew he was right. Still, you didn't want to give him the satisfaction of effecting you with his statements and facts.

"Yeah. See, I've had a taste of dying, and you know what? Not a big fan. So, I'm choosing to be on the winning side."

"She's using you."

You summoned your powers and blasted Mk away from you, "We have a plan. You could help. We could stop her together." He tried to convince you to help them, but you just couldn't. She will come and get you if you betrayed her again. You started to approach him slowly until you stood right before him, "You can't even stop me. No, first I deliver you, then I'll come back for your has-been master and finally, I'll have repaid my debt and be free of this nightmare. Anyway, I assume you won't be coming quietly, so --" You trailed off and pulled your fist back to deliver a final blow.

Just then, you felt yourself being blasted out of the van before it exploded. You were kneeling away from them, seeing that the Dragon Girl was behind what happened. You hissed in pain while glaring at them. However, you forced a smirk and stood up, "Okay. Girl's more powerful than I thought. Interesting." You uttered, dusting your armor then put your hand on your hip. This earned you a glare from Mei, "And you. You kidnapped us in a copy of our own van! That's super gross!" She yelled at you in frustration.

"The Lady asked me to bring MK. But she didn't say anything about you two." With that being said, you summoned your Smoke Monster then used the broken pieces of the van to create your own mech. Without wasting time, you sent your fist them them, but you felt something was off. Upon close inspection, you saw that Sandy was holding your fist back.

"I don't want to fight. But I can't let you hurt my friends."

"Oh, you can't, can you?"

You grabbed the blue guy and slammed him on the ground. This frustrated Mei and brought out her dragon avatar before sending you another blast. It hit the center of the mech where you were, but it was useless. With an evil chuckle, you repaired the mech and grabbed Mei too, "What a hero. Two friends about to be crushed, and you do nothing?" You started to taunt Mk again. The young teen stared at them with fright, "Let them go. You can take me, I don't care. Just let them go." He told you, hoping to save his friends.

"Or what? You aren't the Monkie Kid anymore. Your powers are gone. Your staff's gone! You're nothing!"

"No. I am the Monkie Kid."

"What was that now? I couldn't quite hear you!" You tightened your grip on Mei and Sandy, making the two scream.

"I said -- I am the Monkie Kid!"

The boy jumped up in the sky, transforming into a bird. You tried to stop him, but he flew right toward the mech's right eye. A loud scream left your lips as you held your eye, "Get off!" You yelled, letting go of Mei and Sandy. This gave the opportunity to Mk to take them and fly away. The mech got destroyed and you fell to the ground.

You were on your knees, holding your injured right eye. Your left eye widened and shook as the vision of that day flashed in your head. Your breathing quickened and you started to slightly sweat, "Why... Why does it feel the same? Why do I have to remember it now? Wukong..." You thought as you closed your eye tightly, trying to even your breathing, "No, I must calm down. I shouldn't let that effect me." You slowly regained your senses before a laugh left your lips and stood up. You looked up at the sky, still covering your eye.

"He still has power. Good. Everything just got a lot more interesting."
