Mk is not the Same

YOU DIDN'T KNOW what happened in your absence, but you knew it wasn't something good since Wukong and Mk would be doing something as reckless as jumping into the pagoda without a plan. You just followed after Wukong to see what happened.

When you reached to a certain area, you saw Mk's friends all trapped by the Hundred Eye Demon eyes, "It's the Hundred Eye Demon." You spoke up before you and Wukong moved to save them. Wukong went and helped Mei first while you used your powers and freed Pigsy, "Tang!" The pig exclaimed and used his weapon to free Tang. The said man fell down and accidentally destroyed the eye that had captured Mo then the cat freed Sandy in return. It didn't take long for all of the eyes in this area to be taken care of, "Guys... Where's Mk?" Pigsy asked with worry and you all suddenly heard Mk's screaming coming from the top.

It didn't sound like he was fighting... he was more like struggling or afraid.

Everyone didn't waste time and went to check on the boy, fearing that he might be in grief danger. Once arriving to Mk's location, you saw him captured by the demon, his form was glitching violently, "Dammit! He is powering up from Mk's memories." You thought while clenching your fists tightly. You knew that the Hundred Eye Demon mostly feasted on the bad and traumatizing memories in order to become stronger. Knowing Mk, he had so many memories that had his head turned upside down mainly the Lady Bone Demon and Azure Lion.

"Mk!" You snapped out of your thoughts when Wukong called out for his successor. However, this made the eyes turn to you, glaring shapely.

"Don't move! I'm not finished with him yet!" The demon exclaimed and revealed himself.

"I'm not finished with you!" Mei shouted and went to fight.

You also moved and started to destroy those eyes one by one. As you and the others dealt with the eyes, Wukong aimed to takedown the demon to save Mk. The Monkey King took a while to defeat the demon because he had boosted his energy thanks to Mk's memories. However, he eventually knocked that demon out with a powerful kick. Mk fell down and rolled on the ground, he was shaking and breathing quickly. Wukong quickly ran to the boy to check on him, "Mk! Are you ok, Mk?" As he asked this, Mk quickly stood up and hugged Wukong tightly, crying on his shoulders.

Your face softened slightly, feeling bad for the kid. You didn't know what he had witnessed, but it would probably take a toll on him. His friends joined the hug, trying their best to console and assure him. At least Mk wasn't facing all of this alone, his friends were so supportive of him. Suddenly, you were pulled into the hug with them which made you feel awkward. You didn't know how to react to this, you hadn't had a hug in a long while. Welp, better stay still then.

Mk then pulled away from the hug, "I still haven't... There's still one more stone." He stated and walked ahead.

"At the top? Are you sure?" Mei asked while approaching her friend, sounding so worried. Mk looked at the dragon girl and smiled softly, "I'm sure." With that being said, he looked up and raised his arm. His eyes glowed gold and a secret passageway opened in the ceiling, "It's calling me." The boy uttered and summoned his staff, flying high up with it to the place of the final stone. You watched as his friends called out, but he didn't listen to them. As a result, Wukong followed after the boy to stop him.

You growled and went up as well, but you were a bit later than Wukong. You found yourself in a big room and there was the Jade Emperor's power protected by Ne Zha's seal. You didn't know what happened between the two, but decided to listen to Mk talking, "I've long forgotten those things. Five colored stones. Pillars of Heaven. And how to save the world." Mk spoke up as he approached the energy ball. Wukong shook his head in refusal, "You've been deceived! No one can predict the future!" He exclaimed with annoyance at Mk's gloomy thoughts. You were aware that Wukong feared that his successor might end up like Azure and disappear, but he knew something and he didn't tell anyone about it, what was he hiding from you?

"I'm sorry, this is the only way."

Mk turned around and tried to break through the barrier Ne Zha had created to protect the Jade Emperor's power. You and Wukong went to stop him, but a powerful force pushed you back just as the others joined you two. The lotus flower opened and there was the golden ball that's the Jade Emperor's power. Mk held out his hand to grab it, but the ball got bigger and bigger that even wind started to blow at you. The boy raised his arms up and the core shot its energy at Mk.

"Mk!" Wukong called out, but a blinding light engulfed you all, preventing you from seeing what happened to Mk. The last thing you heard was Mk's loud scream piercing your ears sharply, setting your brain on believing that Mk was gone.
