Concerns of a Lover

❝What can I say? I'm dramatic.❞

AFTER THE PLAN was sit, everyone went to either train or prepare for the upcoming battle with Azure. You were alone, fixing the scarf around your neck when you suddenly felt someone approaching you.

You turned around and saw Wukong walking toward you, "Need something, your majesty?" You asked him nonchalantly and with sarcasm, returning to fix your attire. Wukong sighed deeply, looking all serious, "No, I just wanted to... check on you." He spoke up while scratching the back of his head, mumbling the last part. However, you managed to hear him, "I'm fine, thanks for your concerns." You tried to assure him, but your tone wasn't the one of assurance. You just wanted to be alone for now and do your own preparation.

Wukong hated that you were treating him coldly, but he couldn't help it. He felt worried about you and wanted to make sure that you would be able to handle this fight by yourself because you will be fighting Peng alone for a while. You were about to go when Monkey King grabbed your arm, "Y/N, do you still hate me?" He asked you, looking directly at your eyes. You were slightly surprised by his question, but you managed to compose yourself, "I can't answer that yet, Wukong. My feelings are... unsettled at the moment." You replied to his question truthfully.

"I know what I did in the past was horrible and unforgivable, but I really couldn't take you out of my head ever since the first time I saw you after many years. I'm not asking for forgiveness, I just want a second chance and I promise to treat you better. After all, we were destined to be mates."

You bit the inside of your cheek, suppressing your emotions, "I don't want to talk about this right now, I'm not ready." That was all you said which made Wukong look down in guilt. He knew that you won't open up to him just yet, it was difficult. If he was in your place, he would feel the same, "Go and check on Mk, he probably needs you." You added and turned your back at him, indicating that you no longer wanted to talk. Monkey King sighed and turned to leave, but he stopped to say one last thing, "Just know that I still care about you, Y/N." With that being said, he left to see Mk.

You gritted your teeth and clenched your fists tightly in frustration, you didn't know why you were angry. Was it because of Wukong and his stupidity or because you couldn't accept the fact that you still had feelings for him? Either way it was so annoying and you hated it. You let out a deep sigh and tried to calm yourself down, "After this fight is over, I'm leaving this crazy group." You thought as you rubbed your temple.

After a few minutes of light training and preparation, the atmosphere suddenly changed and you felt a strong power approaching Flower Fruit Mountain. You knew who it was, you had to warn Wukong and fast. You teleported to where Mk's friends were, "We have to go!" You stated and opened a big portal beneath them before they could even ask you. All of you made it to Mk and Wukong, "They're coming. Get down!" You exclaimed just as a bright light shot down.

Azure and his brothers stepped out, looking pissed, "I've warned you! I told you to stay out of my way. But here you stand, preparing for treason against your new emperor. And so, I will test the limits of Sun Wukong's immortality!" Azure spoke up firmly, his eyes glowing blue.

Now, the battle had begun officially.

"I don't know how you stomach it, sister! The Six-Eared Y/N, fighting side by side with her own replacements!"

Peng laughed as you dodged their attacks. The group had split up just like in how the plan stated, you were currently dealing With Peng by yourself. You appeared right above Peng through a shadow portal, bringing your staff down on them. However, they managed to block it with their golden wing, "Is there anything Wukong could do that would break his hold over you? Pathetic!" Peng stated before they throw you away.

You landed safely on the ground, but you could see Peng dashing at you with their spear. You swiftly blocked it with your staff just in time and smirked, "You know what, Peng? Straight up, I have never liked you." The moment you said that, Mei emerged from your shadow portal. Mei whipped around and attacked Peng back with her Dragon Blade which surprised the bird.

"You little brat."

"Give it a rest, would ya?!" Mei exclaimed with anger, summoning her dragon avatar. She sent a blast to Peng, but they were shielding themself with their wings, "I'm surprised a descendant of Ao Lie has so much bark! Your bite, however, needs some work. Perhaps, I can give you some pointers!" Peng mocked and went to strike Mei.

The fight between you three continued for a while. You didn't know how Mk and Wukong were handling Azure, but you were sure that they were doing good. Even when you saw a gold light coming from the distant, you didn't stop fighting. However, you, Mei and Peng stopped when you heard Azure's loud roar of pain. It seemed that things took another turn of event. Peng turned to you two with a smirk, "Look, this has been fun and all but... here's some advice, kids. Never be the last one to leave the party." They said as they were about to escape, you knew they were going to do that.

Mei gritted her teeth in anger, "How dare you. My friends are in danger because of you! And you're not even gonna stick around to finish the job?" She sent more blasts at Peng who avoided them.

"Mei! Let them go. After all, you always were the most cowardly of the bunch." You stopped her and smirked at Peng before you turned to leave. Peng got frustrated because you hit their big fat ego, "You dare turn your back on me?" They dived at you with frustration, but you gave them an ominous smirk then brought out your Smoke Monster and Mei joined you. Peng took a look at Flower Fruit Mountain, "You're not worth the effort." They spat and took off, escaping the area.

You sighed deeply and crossed your arms, looking at the direction Peng flew to, "Alright. We should regroup with the others." You stated.

"Way ahead of ya!"

Mei grabbed you with her dragon and flew toward Flower Fruit Mountain where the others should be gathered. It seemed that the battle was coming to a close end, you just hoped that Wukong was alright and unharmed.
