❝What can I say? I'm dramatic.❞
DAYS PASSED AFTER the battle with Azure Lion, everyone returned back to their normal lives, you were one of them of course. You finally returned to Flower Fruit Mountain and resumed your life there just like how you used to be.
It was nice being back to your home if you didn't take in consideration the little monkeys who were always clinging to you. Well, they couldn't help it, you were like a mother to them. Monkey King would act weird every now and then, thinking that you would leave any time soon. During your stay, Wukong had told you to investigate who was behind giving Azure the scroll, but you almost found nothing relatable. However, you did discover that the Celestial Realm was in chaos now that the Jade Emperor was gone.
Right now, you were hiding in the shadows, listening to Mk and Wukong talking after they were done training. It was obvious that Mk didn't feel alright at all, he was still afraid of his powers. After ensuring that Mk was gone, you appeared from Wukong's shadow, "Well... that went well, bud." You spoke up from the shadow, smirking while stepping out of the shadow. The said monkey groaned and turned to face you, "Ugh. Are you actually lurking here?" He asked you with a frown, totally forgetting that he had asked you to stay in Flower Fruit Mountain... again.
"Hey, this mountain's been my home just as long as yours. Plus, you told me that I can return." You reminded him and then turned your back to him. Wukong sighed deeply and scoffed, knowing that you were right, "You find anything?" He asked you out of blue, going straight to the point. Your smirk disappeared, "No, but... with the Jade Emperor gone, the Celestial Realm's... things aren't looking good. Wukong... the kid." You trailed off, making Wukong look away.
"I know."
"You need to talk to him."
"I know! But... he's not ready."
You snickered at his excuse, "You mean you're not ready. You really are the worst mentor." You taunted him before going back to being serious, "He need— we need to know everything we can." You added while crossing your arms.
"He's just a kid. Can't he just—"
"He's not just a kid! Why him, Wukong? Did you know about— when you chose him?" You asked him, suspecting that he might know something. However, Wukong looked down and turned away from you, "No, I didn't know. It just felt... right." That was his only answer, an answer that wasn't even one bit logical. You were surprised that choosing Mk was just based on his feelings, "And that doesn't bother you!? This kid that just happens to have all your powers, that's at the center of all of these battles... and you never questioned why? None of us even knew he existed. How?!" You exclaimed and turned around, "We have no idea who freed Azure from the scroll. All your old companions are just... here again? And you just—" You were about to continue, but Wukong cut you off.
"What about YOU? You just... come back! You just—"
You didn't want him to continue talk about how you got back, so you stopped him with a loud groan of anger, "Augh! Look, there's someone pulling all of our strings, ESPECIALLY the kid's. And they're not finished." You pointed out, wanting Wukong to understand that what was happening was dangerous.
"Are you, Bud?"
There was a moment of silence between you and Wukong before you two faced each other with angry glares, shouting at each other in unison.
"Do you want my help or not? You're such a di—"
"You were a villain five minutes ago and now you're showing me how to—"
Suddenly, both of you stopped when you heard Mk's voice call out for Wukong, "It's ready! Monkey King?" The boy shouted because he had made a surprise for Monkey King. You sighed again, "Look, that kid idolizes you. You're his literal hero and you just..." You trailed off while walking past him. Monkey King seemed to be a bit offended by what you were about to say, "I just what?" He questioned you, daring you to continue your sentence.
"He needs to know it's not all on him. You need to do better." With that being said, you teleported to another place through a shadow portal. You were frustrated by Wukong's audacity to blame things on you. Not only this, he dared to tell you that you had returned after HE took away your life and you had to accept the Lady Bone Demon's deal to be back to life to free her. You just wanted to help him, but it seemed like helping Wukong would be worthless. You were just doing this for Mk's sake, the kid needed real guidance in what he was experiencing.
"He is an idiot." You mumbled and started to walk a way, a little monkey jumped on your shoulder.
Time went on and night came, you were sleeping on the top a tree you and Wukong used to sit under in the past with a few monkeys. You were feeling a bit uncomfortable because the monkeys were snuggling real close to you, one of them even had its tail right on your face which you moved away with a groan.
Suddenly, an mystic blue symbol appeared beneath you, making the monkeys wake up and run off. A blue light came from the symbol and then you were teleported away to god knows where.
