Chapter Twenty-Six
The Maze of the Pagoda
┗━━━━━°❀•°:🌸:°•❀°━━━━━┛

❝See, I've had a taste of dying, and you know what? Not a big fan.❞

THE PAGODA WAS like an endless maze, so many hallways and doors. Not to mention the large amount of demons that Li Jing had captured inside the pagoda.

You were just hoping that your sacrifice wouldn't go to waste like that. You were also curious to know if Mk and his friends managed to get the stones, you were sure Mk would figure something out eventually. Anyway, you continued to walk, exploring the prison in hopes of probably finding an exit even by a mere coincidence. Your normal attire was replaced with a plain gray tracksuit. Hands tucked in your pockets, you let out a deep annoyed sigh, "I really regret my decision." You mumbled as your expression held a deep scoff.

You were yet again paying for Wukong's recklessness.

During your exploration, you tried your best to avoid getting into fights with the other demons. However, you were glad that the road you took was mostly empty... but not fully empty. Throughout your journey, you felt like you were being watched and followed despite the fact that you were alone. You thought that maybe a demon was stalking you which was actually wrong. You sent clones to scout the area in case there was anyone following you, but you were completely alone.

You resumed your walk, trying to ignore the lingering feeling yet it was still there and you hated it. You stopped in your tracks and clenched your fists tightly in frustration. A growl left your lips and you turned around, "Who is th-..." Before you could finish talking, your eyes were locked with a floating purple eye. You found yourself subconsciously staring at it just like how it stared deeply into your eyes.

Before you knew it, you were in a different place. You were outside in a forest, it looked so familiar. You saw little monkeys running around, but none of them jumped at you. Normally, the monkeys were so attached to you and would cling to you. This time... it was like you didn't exist at all, "This doesn't look real." You mumbled in doubt and decided to look around the area. Much to your surprise, this place was the Flower Fruit Mountain. You went to Wukong's house to see if you could find him. Upon reaching there, you peeked through the window. However, you were shocked to see Wukong sleeping with... you?

Just how can you be in two places at the same time?

"Wait, is this when-..." You stopped yourself before you could continue, recalling your fist time with Wukong. Your face turned red and you quickly took a step back, but you bumped into someone, "Hey Plums, what are you doing here? You're not embarrassed, are you?" Wukong who was in the house moments ago was now behind you. The Monkey King didn't look like his mischievous self, he was grinning evilly at you.

You kept your guards up in case he tried anything, "It's not good to see you, your highness." You sarcastically said and moved away from him.

"So funny, you think you can run that pretty mouth to insult me. You're nothing but someone living in my shadow."

You scoffed yet decided not to reply just yet.

"Nothing to say? Is it because what I said is true."

"Tsk, it's true because you're a bastard."

Wukong chuckled and started to circle around you, "Ouch, you hurt me. What do I expect from a villain claiming to be a warrior? You're nothing but a creature of pure evil, no one will love someone like you. You will live alone... forever." Just as Wukong finished, you were going to punch him out of frustration. However, he moved away in blinking eye, "Aww, did I strike a cord? You couldn't just accept that what I said was true." He continued to talk, taunting you with a smirk.

From the corner of your eye, you could see that same eye you saw earlier floating nearby, "That eye... I need to destroy it." You thought and tried to calm yourself, "You might be right about this."

"Hm? Accepting already?"

"Of course, because this is what I'm and will stay like that."

With swift movement, you summoned your staff and threw it at the eye, destroying it completely. You suddenly found yourself hitting the ground and groaned, finally being back to gloomy hallways of the pagoda, "Dang it." You grumbled and sat up, "That eye triggered some unpleasant memories... only one demon can do this." You said as you dusted your clothes.

Just then, you heard a loud cry coming from ahead. As much as you wanted to ignore it, you couldn't do that. Someone might be in danger, so you found yourself running to the source of the sound. That was when you saw the real Wukong being held hostage by that same eye. You didn't waste time and jumped high, destroying the eye with your fist. You landed down on your feet while Wukong hit the ground harshly, "It doesn't feel good huh?" You spoke up first without facing Monkey King.

"You're! What- What was that?"

"That was the Hundred Eye Demon Lord. He's taken over every corner of this pagoda." You explained to him and turned to him, "That"Thanks for saving me Macaque, it was difficult being trapped was all forgotten." You complained and scoffed, crossing your arms over your chest.

"I don't... We... have a plan."

"Really? You've lost to Li Jing. My sacrifice was wasted Sun Wukong."

"Actually, that kid-" Wukong froze upon remembering his student, "Mk!" He exclaimed and jumped on his cloud to go to Mk. You called out his name, but he didn't listen. So you followed him.

You didn't know what was happening to Mk or how they ended up here in this prison, but something told you that it wasn't going to be good. You just hoped that the kid was alright.
