note: I'm not 100% sure if a drive from Sydney to Queensland is something people do but I googled it and it says it is possible so I'm just going with it. If I'm wrong and it's not what people do, then I apologize in advance.
22nd August 2023 - one year and thirty weeks old.
Her arm wraps around the brunette's waist, instinctively pulling her into her side as her other hand pushes the pram containing Rory who is babbling away while clutching the little koala teddy that Imogen had bought her. After watching the final, they'd spent some time with her mum and Jacob before yesterday making the drive from Sydney to Queensland and checking into a hotel so thet could spend some time together and to give her mum some time to spend with Jacob before they travel home in a few days.
'You okay?' Imogen asks softly and Leah nods her head.
'Yeah... This is just mad. I always wanted to come here as a kid.' Leah replies shaking her head.
'You did?' Imogen asks.
'Mm-hmm... Mum used to watch the crocodile hunter and I thought it was epic and always wanted to come here.' Leah replies.
'That's insane.' Imogen says, her head resting on the blonde's shoulder. They spent some time walking in a comfortable silence, wrapped in their own little world's containing each other and just what their future might hold until Rory lets out a squeal and throws her hands out towards the brunette.
'Mimi!' She giggles causing Imogen to smile.
'You're supposed to be having a nap, silly girl.' Imogen says softly.
'You can take her out... There's too much going on for her to sleep just now.' Leah replies as she stops pushing the pram. She smiles as she watches Imogen expertly loosen the straps and lift the little girl into her arms.
'Hiya.' Rory says giggling before tucking her face into the crook of the brunette's neck.
'She really missed you while you were away.' Leah says smiling as Imogen wraps her free arm around her as they continue walking.
'Mm... I missed her too. I missed both of you so much.' Imogen replies.
'I missed you too.' Leah says softly.

'You make it so hard to be sensible...' Leah says softly as she watches Imogen gently rocking a sleepy Rory in an attempt to finally get her to take a nap.
'What?' Imogen asks raising her eyebrows at the blonde who smiles.
'I know we've spoken about being sensible and waiting a few years to have kids and I know that makes sense but I watch you with her. I watch the way you love her and I just want to start the process of having kids together right away... I know that's ridiculous and I'm not saying I want to do it right now but I just- You make it so bloody hard to keep being sensible.' Leah admits causing Imogen to laugh slightly.
'Oh trust me, Le. I don't find it particularly easy either.' Imogen says.
'I-I know that we said we'd see out the World Cup and pre-season, and I don't mind still doing that if you want, but I don't want to keep living in different flats. I want us to live together like a proper little family. I don't care where we live, I just want to live with you.' Leah admits as Imogen carefully places a finally sleeping Rory into her pram.
'I think it just makes sense if I move into your place? Rory is already settled there, you've got all her bits there so surely it just makes more sense than you having to move both you and her stuff.' Imogen says.
'Something to do when we get back home?' Leah asks and Imogen nods her head.
'Absolutely. I can't wait to wake up to you every single morning.' Imogen says and Leah laughs.
'I mean we practically do every morning anyway but it'll be nice to not have to ask you if you want to spend the night.' Leah replies smiling.
'Mm... You know for the first time in I think my entire life, I think of the future and I feel nothing but excitement. That's all down to you, Le. You've shown me the good in the world and everything I can have, everything that's worth sticking around for.' Imogen says.
'And you've shown me that it was possible to find love again when I really didn't think I would.' Leah replies smiling.
****
'You look shattered...' Imogen says and Leah nods her head as she lets out a small sigh and drops her head to rest on the pillows.
'Mm... I think I did a bit too much walking today.' Leah replies quietly, her hand gently rubbing over her knee.
'Oh, love... You should've said. We could've come home earlier if you were sore.' Imogen says sitting down on the edge of the bed.
'I'm not sore exactly I just- A bit achy but it's okay. I'm fine, I promise.' Leah replies, a small smile on her face.
'Have you had a good day?' Imogen asks, her hands gently massaging the thigh of the blonde's injured leg.
'I've had the best day, Ims... Honestly I just- Being out here with you and Roo just having some proper time together has been everything I needed. I know we had Ibiza together but I just- I think I needed some time just our little family.' Leah admits and Imogen nods her head.
'I know we've been speaking and joking about not wanting to be sensible and jump into have kids together but I was thinking on the drive back here that maybe although we're still being sensible and not jumping into having kids straight away, when we're back home I could maybe start looking at the tests and stuff I need to get done so that when we are ready to start the process, we'll already know where we're at with my body?' Imogen suggests.
'I think that sounds like a really sensible idea. I don't want you to do anything you're not comfortable with though; like when I was joking earlier, I don't want you to feel like I was pressuring you into anything.' Leah says softly.
'I don't feel any pressure, Le. I want to have kids with you as soon as possible really but I know that sensibly we need to be further on in our relationship, I know that ideally you need to back with two good legs.' Imogen replies causing the blonde to laugh slightly.
'What if we were to say that we look into getting the tests and stuff done and then maybe roughly in a year if we're in a good place we can start properly looking into it, taking it all serious.' Leah says and Imogen nods her head.
'I think that sounds like a really good plan of actions. In a year we can look into clinics and stuff; do you think we'd use the clinic you used for Rory?' Imogen asks and Leah shrugs her shoulders.
'We don't have to. If you're the one that's going to carry then we need to find a clinic that you are comfortable with. If it's you going through all the procedures then you need to be comfortable.' Leah replies and Imogen nods her head.
'I love you.' Imogen says softly.
'I love you too.' Leah replies smiling.
note: if you made it this far, thank you. This isn't my favourite chapter but I am struggling a bit. I have so many things that I want to happen in this book and the next but it's just the getting there I'm struggling with. Updates may be a little bit all over the place until I figure out how to fill it out so there isn't huge time jumps between chapters.
