Episode Two, Part 3:
Young Blood

Harlow arrived back at camp, heading straight towards the medic tent, momentarily forgetting that Izzy wasn't actually sick.

She was on one of the beds with her parents sitting at her side - Elara's face understandably washed over in terror.

As Harlow had gotten older, the truth about all of Elara's suffering that he had witnessed as a child came to light, and he suddenly felt heavy in shame to know that his last minute plan had caused her to reacquaint herself with those fears for her daughter.

But he swallowed back his regret and approached Izzy's bed, feeling a spark of warmth somewhere inside as he noticed Izzy's features light up in relief as she saw him.

"Hey," he said, offering a sympathetic smile Elara's way. "You okay now?"

Izzy nodded. "Still trying to convince Mom and Dad of it, but yeah, I am."

"Do you want go to the Quarters?"

"Izzy, I think it's better if you rest, sweet girl."

The young Sovereign looked at her mother, taking her hand in between her own and squeezing firmly. "I promise I'm okay, Mom," she said. "And if I wasn't, I know you'd take care of me. I just needed to eat, that's all. That's why I was dizzy."

Elara let out a breath, clearly struggling to let go of her worries.

"I'll keep an eye on her," Harlow said from Izzy's other side. "I promise she'll be okay."

As if his protection over her was all that Elara needed, she found herself nodding, giving her baby permission to leave the safety of her sight.

"Thank you, Mom," Izzy said, standing up and kissing her mother's head. "Thank you, Dad. I'll come find you guys later."

Izzy was still somewhat hesitant to leave, but she knew that her parents needed to see that she was okay and the best way for that to happen was for her to gracefully slip back into routine, soon forgetting the worries she had forced upon them.

By the time Izzy had shaken her blame away, Harlow was opening the door to her room and hurrying her inside. She was startled to see Eden and Veer inside, but they seemed expectant of her arrival.

"I told them to meet us in here," Harlow said, answering her thoughts.

"Are you alright?" Veer asked, her voice sweeter than the honey Izzy had ate on her arrival back at camp, a quick attempt to bring her energy up.

"Veer, she wasn't really sick," Harlow reminded her.

"I know," she said. "I still worried about her."

Izzy smiled and moved over to the young girl, sitting next to her on the bed, the two almost snuggling against each other. The protection she felt for her and Eden - for all their younger siblings - almost made Izzy not want to tell them about their revelation at all.

"Harlow wanted to wait until we were all together before he said anything," Eden announced, sitting on the floor by their feet. Harlow sat down across from her. "But Veer and I think we know... It was something to do with Myles, wasn't it?"

Izzy nodded, sighing against Veer. "Harlow and I must have wandered out of the boundaries," she said. "But we saw Myles out of camp again. This time there were seven others with him; none of them from Basilisk."

"We need to figure out how many people there are," Harlow said. "If it's just seven, it won't be a issue. But if there's more - even twenty or thirty others, then it means we have a problem: another clan."
