part 29# Crazy

"So let me get this straight..." I said as calmly as I could whilst glaring at Kai and Alia who currently sat in my office.

"She managed to stab you twice and escape." I said pointing at him and he cleared his throat.

"Yes." He muttered looking at the ground.

"And now she's just gone? vanished?" I said clenching my jaw. How the fuck did they just let her get away.

"Lorenzo..." He started but I banged my fist on the table and he shut up.

"You're useless." I said to him before pointing at Alia. " Both of you."

"You can't speak to me like that!" She huffed.

"Don't think I've forgotten you're the one who got her out of here in the first place." I said hardening my stare. "You took her out where she got kidnapped , learnt the truth and is now gone to who knows where!"

Alia looked at the ground as she sniffled softly and Kai immediately went stiff looking up at me for the first time since they stepped into my office.

"Don't fucking blame her." He said narrowing his eyes at me but I didn't fight him.

We'd grown up with Kai. He always defended Alia and I was slightly grateful to know that he was there for her.

"Where the fuck is she?" I asked and he stood up with a tablet in his hand.

He showed it to me and my jaw clenched harder when I recognised the two figures.

"The street cameras last spotted her with Leonardo Bianchi who is actually Aleksander Markov." He said and I took a deep breath.

"A spy?" I asked slowly trying to calm my breathing. "There was a fucking spy in my house?!"

There was a fucking Russian spy in my house living right under my nose. I fucked up. I had never noticed Leonardo too much. He kept to himself and wasn't really one for small talk but he'd taken enough bullets for me not to doubt him.

"Some people saw them getting into a black range rover and we tracked the car down to a parking lot in an airport." He said looking at me. "Which means..."

"Fuck they're in Russia." I said finishing his sentence. "Shit shit shit! "

I picked up the glass on my desk and flung it at the wall. Alia flinched but didn't make a sound and Kai just stood there blankly.

"What are you going to do?" He asked and I dropped my head into my hands sighing.

"There's nothing we can do." I said. "We're not allowed to step foot into Moscow."

It would violate our agreement with the Russians and the last thing I needed right now was a war. Kai was injured and I was not in the right headspace to lead a team into battle.

"So we're going to leave her there?" He asked.

"They won't hurt her." I said rubbing my forehead to ease the headache that was forming. "They love her."

"We'll let thing settle." I told him. "And then we'll find a way to get them to come to us." We had the advantage if they were on our territory.

Alia stood up from the couch in my office and looked at me.

"I'm sorry." She whispered tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

My face immediately softened and my heart became jelly. My sister was too cute to stay mad at. She put on a tough face and defended herself like I had always taught her but at the end of the day she was just a big sweetheart.

"Come here." I sighed and she scrambled over.

I stood up pulling her into a hug as I pressed a kiss to her blonde hair. She was the opposite of me. Golden blonde hair and green eyes that matched our mothers while I looked exactly like my father in every way. No one would even know that we were siblings.

"Are you mad?" She asked and I sighed.

"Yes but not at you." I said smoothing her hair as we shared a heartfelt moment.

"Group hug." Kai said moving towards us and I glared at him. Of course this bastard had to ruin it.

"No." I said and he dropped his hand and put on the fakest sad face I've ever seen.

"Aww I'll hug you sweety don't listen to him." Alia said moving to give Kai a hug and the minute her face was in his chest his face morphed into a smirk of victory.

"You sly bastard." I said to him and Alia looked up but he quickly switched back to a sad face.

"What?" Alia asked looking at him as I just gaped at his antics.

"Nothing, I'm sad princess, keep hugging me." He said pouting like a child at her and I glared at him.

"Ok." She said hugging him again and he lifted his hand giving me the finger.

Yeah he was brave now because he knew I couldn't do anything while he was holding her. Just wait until my sister isn't here asshole.

Just then Alia squeezed him and he groaned which caused me to smile.

"Sorryy are you in pain?" She asked him and he nodded at her.

"You know what would help ease the pain?" He said looking at her and she blinked completely oblivious.

"What?" She asked innocently and he smirked at her.

"A blow--" he started but I immediately pulled her away from him.

"Don't even fucking think about it!" I pointed at him. "And don't touch her."

"Who knows how many women your filthy fingers have been in." I said scowling at him as my sister gasped from behind me.

"Hey I was just playing around." He said holding his hands up in surrender but the smirk didn't leave his face.

"Yeah well play all you want just not with her got it?" I said and he immediately saluted me in an overdramatic soldier pose.

"Aye aye captain." He said and I rolled my eyes.

"Get him out of my face before I kill him." I muttered to Alia.

"Let's go joker." She said walking towards the door and he trailed behind her like a puppy.

"Of course princess." He said following her and they closed the door behind them.

God I was living in a house of idiots and I wasn't any better. I had allowed her to get away. But I tried not to focus on that too much right now. Madelyn would be back one day.

I would make sure of it. I would have her back in my arms and then I would never let her go. It had been almost 18 hours since she left and I was already going insane.

I have to remind myself that I'd waited 16 years for her. I could wait a few more.

This chapter was so dumb Ik but the intent wasn't to focus on Enzo and Madelyn's story it was to drop some hints for the next book. Can you guys tell who it will be about?🤭

This was to introduce the couple of the next book lol and Omg I have so many ideas for them. I have been pushing for them for so long which I hope you guys noticed in the previous chapters with the princess nickname. AHH I'm so excited.

Let's be so honest Kai is just a big dumb dumb buttt there's so much more to him than meets the eye and I can't wait to explore that. Coz as I always believe: the funniest characters are usually the ones in the most pain.
