Chapter 28

Worry

Zara stood on the wall, overlooking the Gauntlet. It was barely dawn and she was worried about Mira. She had grown up with the Sorrengail kids. Zara shivered at the cod.

A mug of Coffee was in front of her and Zara turned to see Garrick standing there. Zara took it. Garrick wrapped an arm around her and pulled her against him.

"Where's Bodhi?" Zara asked.

"Still sleeping. I felt you get out of bed. You been tossing and turning all night." Garrick said. Zara closed her eyes and leaned against him as they watched the sun slowly come up the horizon.

"To much on my mind. To worried about Mira." Zara said.

"I ran into Xaden in the kitchen. He was going to Violet whose by the Scribe Quadrant to see if there's news." Garrick said. Zara took a long sip of her coffee. I had him let us know if there's something." Garrick pressed a kiss to her head. Footsteps came and Zara turned to see Bodhi join them. Zara reached for him and he came closer and wrapped his arm around her.

"Any news?" Bodhi asked.

"No." Zara said.

"Xaden isn't happy." Garrick looked back and saw the place empty. "The weapon run was susessful and then a unfriendly drift attack." Garrick shook his head.

"We got out of there at least." Zara said.

"Something are just not adding up." Bodhi said. Zara took a long drink of her coffee and laid her head on Bodhi's shoulder. "War games are in two weeks. When is your brother's wedding?"

"Three days after graduation and we'll be leaving right after. The General said we got leave and Garrick can come." Zara said. General Sorrengail had pulled her to the side to let her know. "And we'll get our orders with Garrick graduating on graduation day. I asked. But least we can go to the wedding, but you and I have to come back the day before Consription Day. Cam is coming with us."

"We'll have to leave late so you can get him out." Garrick said.

"Will Adish let him fly with you?" Bodhi asked.

'It's only one time, so yes. We need another royal to be a rider.' Adish told all three.

"That answers that." Zara said.

'I'm to report from Sgaeyl, that no one was killed and Mira is fine.' Adish said. The three sighed in relief.

"That's some good news." Garrick said. Doors opened down below. "Let's get ready for formation." Garrick and Bodhi pull Zara off the wall and they head into the courtyard. Zara just hoped she could get through the War Games and not have to worry of graduation till the day of.
