Leaving and Home

It didn't take long for Zara to get her new uniform and get her stuff moved. Zara met Garrick in his old room.

"Where's Bodhi?" Zara asked as she closed the door behind her..

"Seeing the new posts for Command." Garrick said as he checked over his room for anything. Zara leaned against the door.

"My friends nearly shooed me out of the dinning hall to get home." Zara smiled. Garrick chuckled. "Violet wants the details when I get back. I went to check with the General and we got four days leave. Two day before wedding. I think we'll leave at midnight the day after wedding at midnight to get Cam here." Garrick nodded. "Where are they sending you?"

"Samara with Riorson." Garrick said. Zara paled. Garrick came up and took her face in his hands.

"Your getting sent to the front." Zara said.

"It's easier to transfer the weapons." Garrick whispered. Zara nodded. Garrick pulled Zara into a hug and Zara hugged him back and closed her eyes. The door opened and Bodhi steps in with a smile. Zara turned.

"You get what you needed?" Zara asked.

"I got the Section Leader position." Zara squealed. Zara ran and jumped in his arms and hugged him.

"You'll make a handsome Section Leader." Zara kissed him.

"Hey." Garrick said.

"Your a handsome Lieutenant." Zara shot back at him. Garrick rolled his eyes. "Whose the Wingleader?"

"Aetos." Zara groaned. "Rhiannon is your Squad Leader." Zara smiled.

"Well deserved, but Aetos." Zara shook her head. "Not surprised but still."

"We ready to go?" Garrick said and Zara picked her head up.

"Yes." Zara said.

'We'll be on the Flight Field in 15 minutes.' Adish said. Zara grabbed her bag. Garrick and Bodhi grab theirs. The boys held out their arms. Zara smiled and took the arms.

"Let's get the Princess home." Bodhi said.

"I love you two." Zara said as they step out. They greet their friends and Marked Ones. Imogen ran over.

"When should you be back?" Imogen asked.

"In four days." Zara said. Imogen nodded. They stepped into the Courtyard and started walking.

"Tavis, Tauri, Durran. Wait a minute." Aetos calls. The three turn to see Aetos and a Man with the mark of a Major. "Figured we catch you before you flew off to Caldyr." Garrick and Bodhi kept close to Zara's side. "Not that you should after your little stunt."

"I'm sure you want to keep a perfect image and not anger my father or brother." Zara gave a small smile.

"I'm surprised the Princess of Nevarre has lasted this long." Zara looked over the man. He was greesy black hair.

"I had my struggles, but it's Cadet Tauri now. And who are you?" Zara asked.

"Where are my manners. This is Vice Commandant, Major Varrish. He's here to tighten the ship, as they say. We seem to have gotten a little lax around here. Naturally the Quadran't current executive Commandant will still see to operations, but Varrish's new position only answers to Panchek." Aetos said. Garrick and Bodhi share looks and Zara made sure her shields were still up. He had a smile that Zara didn't like. "We got some missives for all three of you." Varrish hands each of them with an envelope with Melgren's seal. Zara grabbed hers as the others take there's. "These are your orders with your mated dragons." Zara ripped hers open. "You and Durran can leave when Violet leaves and Tavis can come when Riorson does.

Cadet Zara Tauri is hereby given two days of leave once every fourteen days to be used only to fly with Adish directly to and from Chradh's current duty station or location. Any other absence from classes will be considered a punishable offense.

Bodhi nearly crumpled his missive and Zara had to put a hand on his arm. Garrick looked pissed.

'Adish?' Zara asked.

'I know and I'm pissed. Sgaeyl and Tairn say their riders have the same orders.' Adish growled.

"Dragons give their own orders." Bodhi seethed.

"We'll see. Your allowed to go to the wedding." Aetos lifts his chin. "But you should remember something."

"And what is that?" Zara asked.

"Secrets make for poor leverage. They die with the people who keep them." Zara felt like she was going to be sick. "Have a good time at the wedding." Aetos and Varrish leaves. Garrick watches them like a wolf stalking his prey.

"Adish is pissed." Zara whispered.

"So is Chradh. Tairn and Sgaeyl are as well." Garrick runs a hand through his hair.

"A week. They are going to be in pain." Zara whispered.

"Adish and Cuir will be together. They might have not a lot of pain sicne they will be together. Chradh will, but we really don't know." Bodhi said.

"They'll be fine. They are just pissed." Garrick said.

"Should we wait to leave till tomorrow?" Zara asked.

'No. We leave now before I roast command.' Adish said.

'And I will help.' Chradh said.

'Will you stop encouraging Chradh with roasting command?' Garrick said.

'No.' Adish growled.

'Get to the flight field. We're waiting.' Cuir said. Zara didn't like this, but they had no choice. The three head to the Flight Field.

Hours later. The sun was rising as Adish flew over Caldyr and Zara looked out and smiled. She was home. Their dragons had calmed down, but were quiet. Anika and Halden came out as Adish, Chradh, and Cuir landed in the Courtyard. Zara smiled as they get off the dragons and head towards her brother and soon sister in law.

"Congrats on graduation." Halden said, putting a hand on Garrick's shoulder. Garrick smiled. "Where you being stationed?" Anika hugs Zara.

"Samara." Garrick said.

"Front lines. I heard your a good fighter." Halden said.

"You three can talk in your room. I'm kidnapping Zara for a girl's night." Anika said, linking arms with Zara.

"What are we doing?" Bodhi asked.

"Hanging out to celebrate my last days of freedom." Halden said. Anika glared at him as they head up the stairs.

'They haven't brought about us missing.' Zara told her men.

'Let's keep it that way. I guess Command was waiting till after Graduation.' Garrick said.

'Did Riorson say I can tell Cam the truth?' Zara asked.

'He said it's your choice. If you trust him, then yes.' Bodhi said. Zara smiled.

'I'll tell him with both of you.' Zara said. Cam was waiting in the hall. Zara hugged him.

"We're still taking you." Zara whispered in his ear. Cam nodded.

"Father and Mother said they will see you guys at breakfast. Go have fun with Anika." Cam said. Zara and Anika disappear upstairs. Zara felt her body relax. She was home and safe.
