Family Issues

Halden, Anika, and Cam were waiting for them as the dragons landed in the courtyard. Guards kept their distance. Anika was eying them, her eyes lit up seeing Zara on a dragon.

'So that's your best friend. Looks like she would love a dragon.' Adish said. Zara jumped off.

'She's just happy to see my dream come true.' Zara said. Garrick and Bodhi came to her and tucked her in between them. Zara didn't mind as her body relaxed. Cam and Halden noticed of course and Zara swore that they glared at the Riders.

"Your dragon really caused a scene." Halden said as they stop in front of them. Adish blew steam towards them. "Father isn't happy with mother."

"Well she shouldn't have slapped me for speaking my mind." Zara said. Adish growled. "They are lucky that he didn't come charging through the palace to find me. Oranges are unpredictable and protective of their riders."

"So. You told your parents off to be with these two." Cam said.

"We do have names." Bodhi said.

"We didn't kill your brother." Garrick said.

"We know." Halden said, glaring at his brother.

"I did." Zara said, feeling the boys arms tighten around her. Halden looked at his sister and saw a light in her eyes that he hadn't seen in a long time.

"You hurt her or kill her. We will hunt you down and kill you ourselves. Both of you." Halden said.

"Though I want to kill them now." Cam grumbled. Halden and Zara glared at him. "What he said."

"We won't hurt her." Garrick said.

"And she's stuck with us wih our dragons." Bodhi said. Anika and Zara linked arms and head for the castle.

"Men." Anika said. Zara chuckled. "They seem like good men. I'm happy for you."

"I appreciate it." Zara said as the men walk behind the girls.

"I didn't expect you to fall for marked ones." Anika said. Zara chuckled.

"Well. One is a third year and my section Leader and the other is executive officer and second year." Zara whispered and Anika's eyes widen.

"Well shit." Anika said.

'Your talking about us, aren't you?' Bodhi asked through the bond.

'Mmm. Maybe.' Zara said. Garrick chuckled. Zara sent a image to them of her naked in her bed. Garrick growled.

'Minx.' Garrick and Bodhi said through the bond. Zara bit back a laugh as they walk into the castle. Yelling was coming from the throne room. Zara sent a look back at her brothers. They didn't look happy. Zara pushed through the doors to the throne room to see the King and Queen arguing.

'We'll wait out here.' Garrick told her. Zara didn't want them to get in the middle of the arguement. The doors shut behind the princes and princess as they step in. The throne room was empty except for the King and Queen. The Queen looked pissed. The siblings looked at each other as they head for the trone. The Queen's eyes land on Zara.

"There you are." The King said. Zara stopped in front of them. "Your dragon scared a lot of guards. He killed one." Adish huffed in her head.

"Well if someone didn't smack me for speaking my mind he wouldn't have." Zara said. She glared at the Queen. "If he had his way, he would of ripped through the caslte looking for me." The King's eyes flash with furry.

"You laid a hand on her?" The King asked, turning on the Queen. "I told you to stop with the abuse on our daughter."

"She is no daughter to me. I only agreed to keep her for the reputation of the family and the promise the Rider Quadrant would kill her." The Queen growled. A snarl filled Zara's head.

"And yet. I'm standing here, alive and bonded to a dragon. Looks like the Gods want me to live." Zara turned on her father. "Call off the engagement."

"Zara."

"No. I am a Rider now to get away from the politics of this stupid court. I will marry who I want." Zara said. Anger filled her father's eyes.

"You would give up everything." The King growled.

"For my happieness? Gladly. Clearly to the Queen I'm a bastard child to her and I'll gladly announce it to the others and tell the Noble you want me to marry the truth." Zara said. Halden snorted. "I don't think he want to marry a bastard." The King looked at her in shock. "Now if you'll excuse me. I got two handsome men waiting for me." The Queen seethed as Zara turned on her heal and walked towards the door. Zara knew she wasn't in the clear of this engagment as she opened the door and saw Garrick and Bodhi smiling at her. But her father knew where she stood and she would give up her title to be with Garrick and Bodhi.
